Little scary at first glance (could've have sworn something was floating in it), but ended up enjoying it. Sweet citrus on the nose and palate balanced by light hoppiness. Color is a little wierd (cloudy) by maybe that's what they're going for Brian (144), Ontario, Canada
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 4, 2003 Not bad, with a bland appearance and head that belies its flavor. Not bad but not great either. Decent citrus notes with some bitterness. GreatDane (100), Ballerup, Denmark
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 22, 2003 A amber color beer, with a short-lasting head. Has a fruity flavor and a rather bitter finish. imdownthepub (5122), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 22, 2003 Cask Conditioned at The Red Lion, Cropredy, Oxon. Orange amber colouer with bubbly head. Probably Wychwoods best beer, and definitely better in the cask, it is a smooth fruity, grainy beer with, at last, a zingy orange citrus hoppy note, slang (397), Columbia, South Carolina, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 17, 2003 Updated: Mar 2, 2004"Fiercely Independant" was what the bottle(pint 9oz) told me, and I happaly agree. Never much a fan of pale ales, the first few sips agreed w/ this prejustice, but the more I sipped... the more my mind changed. Short lasting head atop of an original orangish tinned ale. The paleness of this beer is smoothed by a very slight citrus addition. Second glass had nice lacing. Fuck your 2.85 rating! This is a good beer. Don't always believe the masses ... harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Nov 5, 2003 This was just a great beer. A perfect strong ale in my opinion. Perfectly balanced, a nice hop profile that is perfectly complimented by a very strong and complex malt backbone. A bit of a amberish, to orange color, with a tiny little head, but leaves with some nice residual lacing. I just cannot get over how good this tasted. Finish is slightly bitter and disapointing, but does not take away from the overall score of the beer. mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Oct 31, 2003 Light amber in color. Hoppy and Malty, but well balanced and pleasantly fruity. Great flavor. This beer is great. Lots of carbonation. Nice head retention. One of my favorites. A very good English style Ipa. Ernest (4483), Boulder, Colorado, USA
