Bottled 26/10/12. An amber coloured beer which poured with no head. Sweet and gingery with cleaning products in the nose. Sweet and fiery ginger in the mouth. Apart from the kick of spice itís a bit sweet and poppy.

Bottle: Poured a clear light amber color ale with a medium size off-white foamy head with medium retention and light lacing notes. Aroma of spicy ginger notes with light dry cereal notes is OK. Taste is actually quite interesting with nice ginger roots notes with light spicy finish. Body is light with good carbonation. I understand this is not a great beer but I find it quite enjoyable when you are in the mood for a highly drinkable spicy drink.

Bottle sample. Clear golden with small beige head. Strong aroma of ginger, soapy and spicy with notes of lemon. Strong and sweet ginger flavor, artificial and spicy. Medium-bodied. Too much ginger, a few sips are enough.

Pours bronze with a decent head, aroma of ginger, floor cleaning soap, flavor of ginger, floor cleaning, light bodied, throat burning.

spicier than expected in the back of the mouth/throat. not a ton of complexity as there is really not much going on besides the ginger, but I do like the lite burn, so it was not a complete waste.

Bottle from the LCBO. Clear orange-amber with a decent sized white head. Aroma has a lot of ginger - both fresh and candied - with some backing sweetness, reminding me a lot of Seamanís Ginger Ale soda I used to drink in PEI as a kid. Flavour is also very gingery, with sweet candied notes up front, and a nice burn building in the middle and into the finish. The base beer seems to be a pretty standard and inoffensive ale, which does a decent enough job carrying the ginger, which is the undisputed star of the show. Iím generally not a big fan of Wychwood beers, but this one mustíve caught me in the right mood for it, as I quite enjoyed it.

Pours a clear medium amber with a slight ruby cast. Normal head volume and retention. Lacing is outstanding. World class nose of ginger, with a nice spicy twang like ginger ale, over a subtle caramel. Heavy light bodied with a good bit of smooth texture. Normal carbonation with a touch of effervescence in the middle and a nice burst in the finish. The flavor profile is World Class. This is the best ginger beer Iíve ever had. The ginger is intense (complete with heat) and is balanced by an equally intense sweetness. As a result, it is not very complex. It begins with an intense burst of ginger flavor that flows over a rich caramel sweetness that is somewhat candy like. In the middle, the sweetness fades, ginger regains dominance and a spicy ginger heat takes the forefront. The finish is fiery ginger flavor over a subtle residual caramel and mineral note.

Bottle from Caponeís. Copper pour with minimal head. Nose and flavor was predominantly ginger, some spicy peppery notes at the finish, caramel malt.

Given to me by fellow Ratebeerian Hidden Pooch, I was warned that this one wasnít a top dog. But, I do enjoy ginger flavoured things, beer and sitting so I decided "what the hey" and hupped to íer. This olí dwarf ale actually looks pretty neat, like liquid ginger candies with a frothy white head. One strong nostril inspection proffers up a randy dose of the namesake ginger, overpowering everything in itsí path. I want to pretend that I can smell and taste something other than cloying, feisty ginger but I shanít and canít. Slightly syrupy, mildly carbonated, gigantic ginger wrath will flow into your from the first glug. If you love ginger soda and want to get buzzed then this is for you. I finished it anyhow and have had worse!
