2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottled 50cl. Fiery alcoholic ginger beer- poor description. Reminds me more of a bland low alcohol drink.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Hazy amber/orange color; Light to medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of sweet malt, yeast, fruit, & ginger; Flavor of sweet malt, caramel, ginger, and fruit; Finish is fairly spicy; Way too sweet - but decent if you like ginger.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Spicy and fiery ginger countered by citrus sweetness. However the sweetness combined with yeasty flavour is too much for my liking. OK as an occasional beer for something different, but couldn’t drink two in a row.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
500 ml bottle bought at Jasons Food & Living in Hysan Place, Causeway Bay.
Clear deep amber honey colour; One finger head and crumpety white foam which lasts for 2 minutes; Good sticky lacing and fizzy small carbonation; Very sweet aroma of light ale malt, with strong ginger roots, ginger candy, Canada Dry, sugar, spices, lemon and thin grass; Strong sweet taste of very light ale malt, with very strong ginger roots, strong sugar syrups, strong spices, cream soda, light caramel, light bread, yeast, lemon, moderate bitter hops and sharp grass; Close to light body, thin but syrupy palate; Mouth feel is pretty much an alco-pop - cream soda-ish and slightly cloying - which overwhelms the light caramel Ale base. Luckily, the syrup is sugar and not corn so it doesn’t hurt my throat (okay!), plus the very strong fresh root ginger and hot spice taste give a good counterbalance to the sweetness. The spicy ginger is perhaps the strongest I’ve tasted so far, but to me it’s fresh, spicy, quite fiery and tasty. Notable bready and yeasty presence so to tell you this is indeed a beer, but the sweetness is really poppy… Hoppiness is lemon and thin grass in nose. Citrus and sharp grass in taste. Bitterness is moderately strong, very notable for such sweet beer for an abrupt, sweet-bitter finish; Slightly dry after taste. Very sweet and very spicy to mouth.
Comments: Yes, this one is very sweet, very gingery and spicy in an orthodox beer sense, but it has a proper light Ale-base with decent yeastiness, ginger root is strong, fresh and lovingly spicy, plus some good hoppiness. Like a really fired-up Canada Dry, if the sweetness is cut down by half, this one will be a really good Ginger Beer. For now, once is enough.

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Pours a darker-golden pink, with a white head that reduces next to zip quickly. Nose? Ginger! Big fat ginger and a wee touch of malt in the back, but that was only because I was looking for it. Tastes way sweeter than I would have thought, ginger, and once again the malt in the back. Really this stuff is pop. Suppose looking at this purely as know-what-you’re-getting this might be a alright cooler type thing, but as a beer, which is how I am judging it? Nope.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Deep gold with a thin white head and almost no fizz. As others have noted, this had no malt character at all, instead tasting like an alcoholic ginger ale. Not unpleasant as such, but is this even a beer?

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Ginger beer scent right after uncapping. Dark amber with small white bubbly head. Strong malts to the nose, subdued hops and ever-present ginger. Flavour is reminiscent of Jamaican ginger beer but with... barley and overwhelming saccharides. Biting MF.
