Back off it’s Ginger Beard, he’s a fiery character and his beer is no different. This amber ale is infused with fiery root ginger to deliver a spicy finish with a bit of bite. Try it if you dare!

Hmm, the nose is a bit worryingly halfway between an ale and a ginger beer. Pours a clear burnished copper with no lasting head of any description. The taste - not for me. Imagine a pretty insipid, unremarkable ale ... now dump a load of sugar and a bit of fiery ginger in it. That’s what this is. If that’s your thing, then fine, but, again, not for me.

Deep gold with a thin white head and almost no fizz. As others have noted, this had no malt character at all, instead tasting like an alcoholic ginger ale. Not unpleasant as such, but is this even a beer?

Bottle. The strong smell of ginger, spicy and sweet. The white fizzy head is rather small with a long duration. The body is orange. It taste strong of ginger, nice. The finish is quite spicy. The body is light and creamy with a lively carbonation.

Ginger beer scent right after uncapping. Dark amber with small white bubbly head. Strong malts to the nose, subdued hops and ever-present ginger. Flavour is reminiscent of Jamaican ginger beer but with... barley and overwhelming saccharides. Biting MF.

Where and how: LCBO, bottle 5800 ml
Aroma gingery, fresh but I have seen better samples. Lemongrass with sweet malts.
Appearance :
Top: light sparse, off white.
Base: clear pale amber with hint of sunny spark.
Palate : medium bodied, oily walls, lighter carbonation.
Taste: when they said fiery they meant. Hot spicy ginger with enough caramel sweetness to be drinkable. Peppery end.
Other notes pleasant surprise. Did not expect for them to be so aggressive.

Extremely sweet....like candy/soda sweet. I really had to take a few gulps to get the overwhelming sweetness to mellow. The ginger flavor is pretty good with a nice little burn. I probably wouldn't get it again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a rich copper, with a slight head. Aroma is of ginger, and some malt. The taste is dominated by fiery ginger, and incredibly sweet. This taste more like spiked ginger ale than beer, not bad but does not taste like beer at all.

Aroma is sweet ginger. Dark amber color. Flavor is of ginger, but the ginger flavor seems like a compliment to the brown sugar. I would have preferred it to be the other way around. Body is slightly syrupy and medium light. Beer is so sweet it’s almost hard to get down. As it warms the sweetness becomes cloying. I would not reach for this again.

Bottle. Medium golden, brisk carbo. Skunky earthy hops intermingle with ginger in the aroma, but on the palate it is saccharine-sweet ginger all the way. No heat. Approaching alcopop sweetness.
