3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 bonvivant (168) - Smithfield, Virginia, USA - OCT 14, 2003
Nice amber color with a little cloudiness. Taste is very refreshing with a light balance of malt and hop. Very English and delicate in it's flavors. If you want smack you up side the head flavor-you won't find it here. But you find a pretty refreshing and nice beer.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 HogcliffeLenny (162) - Christchurch, Dorset, ENGLAND - SEP 21, 2008
Bottle 660ml from Asda, Bournemouth. Coppery pour with white head. Slight metallic background but really quite bland. Thin mouthfeel. Quite watery. Not a brew that I would wish to go back to.
3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 will1 (140) - Hampshire, ENGLAND - NOV 23, 2011
Quite pale in colour - light copper rather than ruby. A nice enough aroma: slightly fruity, quite grainy - bread dough like. In flavour this was a little thin and I didn’t find it as robust and rich and malty as I had hoped or as the description suggested, though I could certainly detect the hefty whack of hops. Of the regular Wychwood beers I would choose Hobgoblin over this, but as a beer to slay a thirst it serves its purpose well.

nothing special except the lingering, deep flavour that is one step short of bitter. average palate, bubbles, head, etc. but just enough depth to make it above average.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 BigBilly (127) - London W3 6PF, ENGLAND - APR 2, 2004
Malty grain aroma with some hops.Good off-white head almost creamy, long lasting with good lacing.Sparkling dark amber colour with lots of the tiniest bubbles I've ever seen.Light bitter hoppy flavour with long bitter finish.Light body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Judging by the majority of comments, this beer appears not to travel well.Personally I love this beer and agree with Hopfen 28.Over here it comes in a great 660ml bottle(albeit clear glass)for a lower price than all the other 500mls. I always fall back on it when I'm not sure what I fancy. A couple of these and you graduate to Hobgoblin.

pours a light amber with little head, smells malty with a hint of vegetable soup? tastes malty upfront then ends with a fresh farmhouse flavor. not bad at all.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 futre7 (110) - Taipei, TAIWAN - SEP 29, 2011
Middle of the road ale. Nice orangey colour . Nice head. I get fruit and malt and mild hops. Easy to drink but inspectacular. At 4.2% you can drink a few of these which is good.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 GreatDane (100) - Ballerup, DENMARK - NOV 22, 2003
Had it on the Copenhagen Beer festival 2003, and even after having tried several others that evening, it came out ok.

Much better ale's out there. The novelty factor is its strong marketing point.
