Whenever I have the opportunity to enjoy this most flavorful, swillable giant beer, I exclaim "GO-LI AAAAAATH!" out loud as I am pouring into a giant glass. This silly ritual speaks for itself.

UPDATED: SEP 23, 2007 This is beer, pure and simple. Solid, dark opaque orange, almost brown, with a firm foam head. Nice sweet flowery aroma. Wonderful flavors -- underlying malt, lightly carameled with a nice sweettart finish. Excellent.

Very good. Pleasant fruity aroma. Malty. It was light in flavor and very drinkable. Enjoyable beer. Brown in color.

I would tend to disagree with the majority of goliath drinkers here... and would heartily recommend this beer in bottle form. Purchased from "homebargains" in Northampton UK for 99p a bottle (08/03/2010) (yes!!), it is sweetly toffeed, not overly carbonated, earthy, not too bitter, or over hopped. Great refreshing beer to quell a mighty thirst and grow that goliath belly. Get some before it runs out !!

This beer just gets it right. It has just the right amount of bitterness that it gives it great taste, but doesn’t bite your throat. Its very smooth, and you can chug quite a bit at once. Not heavy on stomach at all, never makes you feel bloated and you can go for another one right after. Head is very minimal and brown, and doesn’t last long at all. It has amber orange color and cloudy liquid. It has average carbonation and quite pleasant easy after taste.

A delicious English beer. I took a whiff of this stuff and almost immediately wrote it off as overhopped English garbage, but the overhoppiness is all in the smell and never appears in your mouth. Surprisingly good, with a deep reddish caramel color and the coolness of being served in a big old bottle that contains an English pint. Enjoyable and impressive, I recommend you give it a shot if you’re able to get it.

500ml bottle. Pours a clear, light amber, with a large, pillowy white head, which lasts fairly well, and leaves good lacing. Sweet malt notes are prominent on the nose, with toffee and caramel especially noticeable, along with some fruit cake. Quite strong hops appear early on, giving a peppery citrus character to the beer. These fade into a sweeter orange peel flavour, before being replaced by toffee malt in the body. Candied fruit notes lead into a slightly woody finish. This has a touch more malt character than one expects from a bitter, but this gives it real depth and class. A very pleasant beer indeed.

One of the best bottled beers I had while in England. Excellent flavor and aftertaste. Would definitely buy again

Malty grain aroma with some hops.Good off-white head almost creamy, long lasting with good lacing.Sparkling dark amber colour with lots of the tiniest bubbles I've ever seen.Light bitter hoppy flavour with long bitter finish.Light body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Judging by the majority of comments, this beer appears not to travel well.Personally I love this beer and agree with Hopfen 28.Over here it comes in a great 660ml bottle(albeit clear glass)for a lower price than all the other 500mls. I always fall back on it when I'm not sure what I fancy. A couple of these and you graduate to Hobgoblin.
