Traditionally Crafted Legendary Ruby Beer.
Hobgoblin is strong in roasted malt with a moderate hoppy bitterness and slight fruity character that lasts through to the end.
The ruby red coloured Hobgoblin is full-bodied and has a delicious chocolate toffee malt flavour balanced with a rounded moderate bitterness and an overall fruity character.

Cask at Khyber Pass. Dark orange honey brown with a foamy tan head. Light sweet toasted malt notes balanced against a mild hop bitterness. Slight carbonation on the tongue but the body still reads very thin. Flavors are pleasant just not very complicated and too watered down.

Cask. Deep ruby red with a light tan head. Malt nose with some slight floral hints. In the mouth, nice and solid maltiness throughout, peppered with light grasses, a little spice, some boiled fruits. Finish is sweet, slight bitter and warm.

Very dark with plenty of toffee in the aroma. Taste is balanced by a decent hop character though giving it almost dark fruit flavours. Not great, but better than most beers of this type. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

First came across this strong ale in the Boswell Hotel in March 1993.Cask, handpump dispense. Clear ruby red in colour with a striking white creamy head. Good fruity aroma with creamy mouthfeel. Pale malt complexes giving a rich malty Dundee cake flavour with syrupy overipe dates, raisins, sultanas and slight milky chocolate notes. Dry nutty almonds in the well balanced aftertaste leading to a dry vinous but sweet finish. Complex with an incredible depth of flavour, very easy to drink more than one! Pity about the change in ABV now!
