Traditionally Crafted Legendary Ruby Beer.
Hobgoblin is strong in roasted malt with a moderate hoppy bitterness and slight fruity character that lasts through to the end.
The ruby red coloured Hobgoblin is full-bodied and has a delicious chocolate toffee malt flavour balanced with a rounded moderate bitterness and an overall fruity character.

Bierbörse Karlsruhe 2013 (Germany). Pours nice and dark reddish. Pleasant clean taste with a slight bitter twang and a nice kind of sherbert finish.

Hand-pulled pint in The Boat, Jackfield on 24 Aug 2013. Another one of those beers you’re sure you’ve rated, but it was bottled. Anyway I’ve set the records right by having this once again in cask form. Looks moody, dark amber, ruby brown in colour, with an inch high off-white, cream coloured head, which stayed throughout the pint, although it was a lot thinner by the end. Sweet and malty, with a hint of dark berries. A little sweet, but to my taste buds, about right. Malty aftertaste which stays until the next mouthful. Fairly thick, it hangs around for a time.

Pleasant aroma. Cask pulled from Hollingwood in Chesterfield. Good smooth beer, nice and lipsmackingly malty.

Grumbo (874) - Suffolk, ENGLAND - AUG 11, 2013
Cask handpull at the Vine, Manchester. Pours a mid ruby brown colour with a small off-white head. Roasted malty toffee aroma, fairly sweet, notes of fruit and nut. Medium/full body. Roasted malt finish. Served well. Over-hyped in bottle version, but had a lot worse as cask.

Amber brown. No head somewhat hoppy. I think the cask was bad because it tastes somewhat tart, almost sour. Had at the church converted into a bar across from Chichester cathedral.

Cask at the Crown Rivers, LHR T5, 18/05/13. Clear chestnut brown with a good sized bubbly light beige head. Nose is malt forward, dark berry fruit, toffee fudge. Taste comprises toffee, dark malt, berry fruits, dates, light sugars. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bitter notes in the finish. Not had this for maybe 10 years or so and had always edged away from it having held bad memories. However, when in good condition, this is a very drinkable beer, or perhaps it was because it was 6.50 in the morning and I’d had 4 hours sleep ! No - it was OK stuff to be fair!

Aromas of puke, hints of red malts and butterscotch. Sweet, resiny caramel malts, english hoppyness. Quite ok taste. Overall quite good beer but the aroma is awful ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
