Traditionally Crafted Legendary Ruby Beer.
Hobgoblin is strong in roasted malt with a moderate hoppy bitterness and slight fruity character that lasts through to the end.
The ruby red coloured Hobgoblin is full-bodied and has a delicious chocolate toffee malt flavour balanced with a rounded moderate bitterness and an overall fruity character.

Draught at Kittys Helsinki. Pours amber red. Notes OF roasted, caramel, toffee. Pretty simple beer with too watery body. Not that enjoyable, needs more taste.

Cask handpump at The Mill, Cambridge. Ruby-brown with a good foamy head. Sadly a yeast scum visible when the head cleared. Very malty with sweet toffee in the nose, far too fruity in the mouth - almost tastes like vinegary red wine. Thin on the palate.

A clear red pint with a thick, lasting and red-tinged head. A sweet aroma and a similarly fruity taste with a hint of spice (ginger, perhaps?) I found it to be a little bit sickly.

Cask in The Fleetsbridge, a Toby Carvery of all places; ruby, clear, no head; aroma is berry fruit, nuttiness; tastes dry and of berries, toasted malt; this example was a shade flabby but I’ve had enough of this in the past to regard it as one of the better mainstream cask beers.

On handpull at Rocklands Private Members Club in Redditch,Worcestershie.25/11/2012 This is a ruby coloured beer with a nose of strong malt and a hint of toffee. In the taste the malt flavour comes through with the toffee and a fruitiness which rounds it off nicely. However, this is not the beer it used to be when it was 5.00%,a pity to lose another once great beer to a lower level due to abv reduction,a story which is becoming all too familiar in certain classic English beers.

Bottle. Pours dark amber full tan head. Aroma of caramel, dark fruits. Flavor is medium sweet. Full body, soft carbonation, light bitter in the finish. Nice balance of sweet and bitter. Overall quite enjoyable.

It's hobgoblin. The boring beer you have when there is not else. Red coloured, malty. Bit of a mess but ok. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at the Abbaye. Clear mahogony colored ale. Classic bitter, nice nutty and malty flavors. Decent session ale, I suppose. Still would rather have a Fullers.

Appearance - very dark, ruby, beige head leaving plenty of lacing. Aroma- malty, a bit of fruit. Taste- smooth, medium bodied, malts, slight roast, dark fruit hints. Not as complex as the bottled version.
