Traditionally Crafted Legendary Ruby Beer.
Hobgoblin is strong in roasted malt with a moderate hoppy bitterness and slight fruity character that lasts through to the end.
The ruby red coloured Hobgoblin is full-bodied and has a delicious chocolate toffee malt flavour balanced with a rounded moderate bitterness and an overall fruity character.

Ruby red with a thin off white head. Good retention and good lacing. Aroma is caramel, sweet malts, chocolate and hops and floral notes. Taste is slightly fruity, with caramel and chocolate. Medium bitterness at the end with some toastiness and grassy hops. Slightly sweet. No carb, medium body. I found the bottled somewhat watery but probably nicer.

A clear red pint with a thick, lasting and red-tinged head. A sweet aroma and a similarly fruity taste with a hint of spice (ginger, perhaps?) I found it to be a little bit sickly.

Bottle. Pours dark amber full tan head. Aroma of caramel, dark fruits. Flavor is medium sweet. Full body, soft carbonation, light bitter in the finish. Nice balance of sweet and bitter. Overall quite enjoyable.

It's hobgoblin. The boring beer you have when there is not else. Red coloured, malty. Bit of a mess but ok. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at the Abbaye. Clear mahogony colored ale. Classic bitter, nice nutty and malty flavors. Decent session ale, I suppose. Still would rather have a Fullers.

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2007 From tap: very good ale, some caramel sweetness, some nutty notes, pretty roasted and some chocolaty notes, quite rich but still refreshing, nice bitterness, i really enjoyed this one.

(Cask): Dark ruby brown colour with a creamy tan head. Aroma of malt, dark fruit, nuts, toffee. Same notes in the taste but with a slightly over-sweet after taste. Slightly flat too. A personal favourite in the bottle but the cask hasn’t done it justice.

Draught (handpump) @ ’The Bear and Staff’, Bear st, London, UK. Red brown, little sparkle, minimal lacy head. Malty aroma with bitter chocolate and some mint. Neutral taste - very correct, but not so distinctive. Good fruitiness and light bitterness towards the end. A touch of coffee. Flat, a bit powdery palate.
