On tap at Harpers.
Appearance: Clear mahogany body with a light tan head.
Aroma: Some malts, slightly fruity with caramel.
Taste: The same as the nose, a bit too fruity.
Palate: Medium body, moderate carbonation.
Overall: It’s okay, but nothing I will buy again.

500 ml bottle, rated from backlog. Aroma and taste of citrus, orange, banana, some chocolate, malt. Taste is a bit weaker than the aroma promises.

Bottle. Good hoppy aroma, caramel, very dark ruby colour, thin head which disappears guickly, nice flavour but a bit thin on the palate, no real bitter after taste, good abv of 5.2% but a bit too light for my liking, went well with a minted lamb pie though.

bottle @ home.

This beer pours a dark ruby red, with a very minimal brown head. The aroma is of chocolate, coffee, toffee, grains. Tasting notes include toasty malts, chocolate, dough. The taste seems to be watered down, I remember back in the days this beer was awesome. Now it is very ordinary! Better than most macros, but definitely not memorable.

Bottle. This is not a gimmick beer but its not a great beer either. I would give it a miss.

Bottle from Peace Street Market, Raleigh. Back in the day these English imports seemed sooooo crafty, but now not so much (especially given what ass-rocking new offerings are on the English scene). Fairly dingy copper pour, medium carbonation, and a nutty, malty nose. Only the mildest of hop additions gives this much balance, hints of fruitbread in the taste too.
