| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 21, 2009 A pretty dry brown ale, labeled an ESB/premium bitter by Ratebeer. A mellow dark ale, with a bit of chocolate and some sweetness in the finish. Good. JulienHuxley (193), Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Nov 18, 2009 Bottle. Nut brown pour with alomst no head. Weak aromas of veggies and english malts, sweetness. Taste was way too sweet, all malt and no bitterness (someone has to review the meaning of bitter at wychwood). Rather flat mouthfeel. Not very enjoyable. BeerChaser0078 (315), Melbourne, Australia
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 18, 2009 Bottle. Ruby copper body with a bubbly white head that quickly shrinks to surface cover. Light aroma has notes of malt, toffee and a hint of dark fruit. Flavour is very similar but more substantial and has more fruit: raisins, sultanas, berries. Light body, minimal carbonation and a short, sweet finish. This is an ok, easy drinking ESB, but not exactly amazing. beerfest5 (153), Simsbury, Connecticut, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 16, 2009 on tap @ GIBF, my one question is how can you have a pasteurised ESB? this was nice and malty smooth, not even close to bitter, so what the hell? very nice refreshing taste. troopie (860), USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Bottle. Poured brown/red with thick white head. Aroma of sweet roast malt. Rather bland flavour, some sweetness some caramel. Finish was bland and unimpressive. glennmastrange (836), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 12, 2009 Tap. Moderate malt aroma of roasted, light herb for the hops, and a hint of cola. Head is large, frothy, off-white with excellent lacing and is fully lasting. Color is sparkling clear brown. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, watery with a lively carbonation and a dry finish. This is a nice tasty, malty ESB. Case (37), Germany
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Nov 11, 2009 Pours a dark red with small head that disappears quickly and leaves a bit of lace.
Not much aroma, a bit of roasted malt. Taste is roasted malt. Not much bitterness really. Lacklustre. MrBunn (1524), Western, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 9, 2009 Bottle. Pours a ruby copper color with a thin beige head. Aromas are a bland mix of apple juice concentrated, toffee and a nuttiness. Flavor is more of the same... the apples are underdeveloped and the toffee comes through fairly robustly. Nuts and oak leaves make the finish earthy and slightly bitter.
