sweet aroma - flavor is malty and sweet. A hint of something nice and a little spice.

smell is ok but a bit sour. taste is the same. sort of a pruney sour on top of the regular toasted nutty flavor you expect. Creamy soft feel that doesnt really compliment the dark fruit. You could do a lot worse, surely. Someone said green-apple and i taste that undoubtedly.

The beer that first comes to mind when it comes to real ale, good frothy head and full of flavour, can on occasion be vinegary though

Poured from 500ml bottle. Poured nice, great head that lasted. Nice dark color. Somewhat sweet aroma. Lots of flavor, a little fruity tasting, a little bit too bitter for me though. Not bad overall.

Bottle (500ml). Poured extremely dark copper (getting close to black) with a small, dense, frothy (almost creamy), lightly tanned head which lasted superbly. Aroma was of roasted nuts with caramel malts, toffee, earthy hops and a subtle fruitiness of cranberries & blueberries. Flavor was a light hop bitterness (earthy) with woody notes, caramel malts, sultana’s, blueberries, a touch of chocolate and a dry yet sweet nutty finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, a dry/creamy mouthfeel and a good finish.

Tap. Nut brown, small beigish head. Nose is syrupy, malty, sliightly candyish and earthy hay. Flavor is sweetish, syrupy with a bit of gingerbread. Not bad. Some roastiness.
