A hoppy bitter beer that has a dark clear brown color. Average at best for my liking.

Pours dark clear brown with thin offwhite head. Aroma minimal, slightly sweet and a tad bit of nuttiness. Flavor biter nut , sweet caramel malts, very thin and watery. Slight bitter finish. Not too good.

A 0.5L bottle at Old Tom Kouvola. Nice brown colour. Palebrown thin head. Maltiness in the nose. Fresh malty bitterish taste. Also some syrup in the nose. In the end hoppy bitterness.

Bottle, poured into a Hennepin glass. Almost black body with a durable off white head. I was looking for a stout to enjoy with a pot of steamed clams and thought this would do the trick and it did. The burnt caramel and anise flavors blended well with the saltiness of the shellfish. The dried figs and plums go well with the melted butter. I’m not a fan of most English Ales and if it wasn’t for the great food I paired this with, it would have been down the drain already. The earthiness of the hops and the blandness of the stale malts don’t bode well with me.

A very tasty ale. A surprisingly thick beer, definitely full. Beautiful color as well.

Bottle. This smells nice. Pours a dark red, with good head. Tastes ok. Not getting the fruityness they speak of. Definitely some roasted malt. Seems almost a bit watery. I expected more.

Can not believe the 5.2% ABV. Tastes thickly of alcohol, could not detect chocolate at all. Good, but not my favorite Wychwood brew that I’ve had.

Pours a clear dark brown with ruby highlights and small ring of off-white head. Aroma is big malty, with figs and caramel. Flavor is awfully alcoholic. Body was medium thin and at some times watery. Didn’t really care for this guy. Coolest thing about this beer is the bottle.
