Chocolately, fruity nose (actually reminded me of a strong tea, even!). This is a beer that I would drink by itself, and have it sit out of the fridge for 10-15 min before sipping. Doesn’t taste super chocolately to me but something did remind me of Christmas in the flavour. Go figure!

Favorite of English ales. Well balanced with no outstanding character. Crisp malt and barley that does not overpower.

Bottle. Pours reddish. Smell of light hops. Smooth beer. Taste is not to strong, but nothing too special.

A definite nut taste, malty, a bit roasty. A short lived head, not a bad body, medium. Bitter.

On-tap. Reddish brown color with an off-white head. Aroma of roasted/sweet malt, chocolate, nuts, caramel/toffee and fruit. Taste of sweet and lightly roasted malt, nuts, fruit, chocolate and a bit of bitter hops in the finish. Medium bodied.

Poured brown/amber. Small whitish head. Malts dominate in the mouth, some sweet notes, toffee, with a pretty clean bite at the finish. Better than some english ales I’ve had.
