12 ounce bottle- pours out a translucent auburn color with very little head. Aroma is malt and fruit. Taste was malty with a slightly bitter undertone and no particular mouth feel. Average. Very average.

500 ML bottle served in a pint glass. Smells malty, fruity, and a little sweet. Clear brown color with quickly disappearing head. Light bitterness and very smooth taste, not at all what I expected. Light mouthfeel, and nice to drink. Wouldn’t search it out, but wouldn’t hide from it.

(Draught at Hilpeä Hauki on 2008-03-01) Dark and bit red. Fruity hops in nose. Bitterness and some sweetness in taste. Some liquorice. Disappointing.

Pours with a small, rocky, off-white head covering a dark, clear, ruby-amber body. A foam layer is lefet after a couple of minutes with some nice lacing. Aroma is rich, spicey, malty and has some vanilla in there too. There is also a bit of a meat broth element to the aroma that is a bit off. Taste is sweet malts and fruity although it is pretty boring swill overall. Lively bubbles and watery texture round out the mouthfeel.

Pours a clear amber-brown with very little head. Scent of malts, toffee, caramel, and hops. Initially the caramel, malts, and toffee hit the tongue, this is finished off nicely with the presense of hops coming in for an encore. Not too heavily carbonated, but the ale is a bit watery in consistency. It’s hard to place it exactly, because it is also a little creamy; not "thick" creamy, but "after-taste" creamy. Very good stuff here, I think I’ve had this once in the past and I’m certain that I’ll have it again at least once more in the future. Serving type: bottle

500ml bottle. Frothy beige head that leaves some good lacing. Dark brown, semi-transparent body. Looks great. Aroma is a week blend of hops, mild fruitiness and metal. Taste is sweet malts, toffee and really kinda boring... very mild bitterness and a quick finish. Underwhelming for sure. Overall....watered down and boring!!

Picked this up at Whole Foods. Deep red color ,thin short-lived head, no lace. Aroma: herbs nicely cooperating with chocolate, coffee grounds and malt. Solid well-balanced flavor, much like Newcastle but a little better flavor elements of caramel and toffee.
