plovmand (1588), Helsinge, Denmark Mar 8, 2008 Can. Pours reddish brown with little white head. Malty, roasty and slightly hoppy aroma. Flavour is sweet malty with some sourness and a long bitter finish. joshwilfong (769), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Mar 8, 2008 amber appearance. flavor does not have the crisp malt character and the subtle hop tone that most esbs do. not very good MartinBrasseur (4), québec, Quebec, Canada does not count Mar 7, 2008 Encore un beau produit qui n’est pas disponible au québec , acheté encore une fois en floride , De belle arome de caramel et de houblon aromatique me rappellant le style des brown ale anglaises, d’un brun au reflets rougeatre cette bière ma impressioné par son gout de caramel qui est tres bien balancé avec les houblons ont dénote aussi une touche de torréfaction . beau produit tres satisfaisant ! cheers .... travita (1851), Frisco, Texas, USA Mar 4, 2008 Nice color in the ale, appealing to me with a good head. Great taste of a hop and malt balance with some fruit and carmel. Some hops in the smell but balanced out with some sweetness. mmmbeer (737), Austin, Texas, USA Feb 29, 2008 Pint bottle poured into pint glass- poured brownish ruby, mostly transparent, light carbonation, off white head bubbled and laced away rather rapidly. Aroma of toasted malts with a brown sugar note. Hits the mouth with a medium body, the malt tastes a little weak for the style, caramel and hop note on the finish. NoiZe (1288), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands Feb 29, 2008 Brown, amber colored brew. Sweet roasted malty aroma. Sweet caramel, chocolate malty and a bit bitter hoppy flavor. Enjoyable. greedycheater (80), Oklahoma, USA Feb 28, 2008 Mild, malty, smooth and warm aroma. Off-white head that doesn’t last long, but has good lacing. Color is dense and murky, a deep copper-brown. Looks and smells tasty...let’s see. Syrup, the flatness of malt, followed by the spark of hops with a slight metallic end that finishes creamy. Unique! Full bodied over the tongue, leaving the lips less sticky than other dark malty goodies. I’m disappointed I bought only one. onlyrocknroll (218), Cork, Ireland Feb 28, 2008 Red/brown with a small head. Malty biscuit aroma. Sweet aramel flavour with some mild hop bitterness and a sharp malty finish. Ok.
