Poured dark brown with a thick white head. Caramel malt in the nose. Flavor of caramel malts, hops, bread, and slight hints of dark fruit. Finishes finishes average with a slight bitterness. Decent.

500 ml bottle. I tried it in 2006. By the reviews this is one that you either like or don’t like. I’m of the latter opinion. It poured a nice amber brown with a beige head. The taste had a little caramel in it but it was pungent and hoppy. It diid not appeal to me and did not taste like an English Bitter, which is one of my favorite styles. I expect won’t buy it again.

I really liked this beer. Nice feel to it, especially liked the colour. Could have done with a touch more hop but I’m a hop addict

50cl bottle. very nice packaging. deep amber color, ugly yellow small head. medium carbonation. smell and flavor of nutty light roasted malts and quite yeasty. surprisingly simple and shallow. reminds me of basic brown home brew. good texture. very disappointing, since the branding is just to my likings and hints to a much more complex beer.

the dark brown body is topped with a little tan head. The aroma is light and malty, just like the flavor. The flavor also has a bit of a metallic flavor

Pint bottle. I generally like the English Ales, and this is no exception. I noted some mentioned it was pretty bitter, but after having a stout and a porter that were quite bitter, this didn’t seem so bad. Deep ruby color, white head that quickly disappeared, hint of caramel, and an aroma that strikes me as English Tea. Not bad at all.

Bottle. Pours muddy brown with a reddish head. Some malt scents, but with undertones of caramel/toffee. Bitter is right. But good!

Pours dark brown with reddish hues and mostly receding light tan head. Aroma of earthy caramel, toffee, plums, and bread dough. Tastes of earthy caramel, lightly sweet malt, apples and plums. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied and soft carbonation.
