3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours to a finger-length head that dissipates quickly and leaves just a tiny, bubbly film top. Minimal lacing. Dark color with a strong ruby tint when held under the light. Classic English ESB aroma of raisin bread - quite sweet, fruity, and bready. Taste follows suit and also has a deep, roasted, almost woody character. Very, very good. Second best English ESB Iíve had so far after Fullerís. Would have liked just a little more body. A welcome change of pace from the beers Iíve had lately.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep brown with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Very little lacing. Smells sweet and malty. Taste is what you would expect from the aroma. Nice malty taste, with a little bitterness on the back end. Mouthfeel is a little on the thin side, feels a litte watery. That is probably my biggest complaint with this beer. Finish is slightly sweet, fades into a faint bitterness before it disappears. Not a bad beer if you just feel like drinking a few beers with decent flavor, definitely nothing to go out of your way for though.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
dark amber colour, moderate off-white head; aroma of fruits (mainly apple), bread, and some caramel; taste is also bready with some roasted sugar and fruityness; less intensive hoppyness than I expected and a bit watery...anyway, itís a great ale for just drinking a pint of beer after an exhaustive day, nothing special, nothing extra, just a beer; never be your favourite, but you never say ínoí for it :-)

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark amber body with a small white head. Nose has herbs, spices and some malt. Taste is fairly neutral with a very mild bitter finish. Carbonation is very soft, almost flat and palate is quite thin. Not really that special.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours dark copper. Thin head dissipates quickly with fairly good lacing. Aromas are smoky caramel, leather and yeast. Flavors are muted brown sugar and caramel, yeast. Slight hop bite. Light mouthfeel with a dry finish. Overall, itís okay. It doesnít have much character, but itís not the worst beer ever. Itís probably a good representation of a traditional English bitters.
