Can.50cl. consistently good brew. I’ve never had the pleasure of trying the cask conditioned, but the bottled version is actually quite refreshing without loss of character when chilled a little.

Pours reddish brown, large creamy offwhite head, lacing to bottom of glass. Aroma of caramel and roasted malts, faint hops. Taste is rich blend of dark malt well balanced by English hops. Medium to full body, somewhat sweet finish with zero aftertaste. Simply beautiful!

Bottle @ Allen Street Hardware, Buffalo NY. Beautful looking beer poured into an ommegang glass. Beautiful color (Copper, red, brown) nice frothy head. Looking forward to wonderous taste. Then absolutely nothing, Bland as can be. Some fruit, no hoppy bitterness. drinkable but so is Milwaukee best sometimes

500mL bottle into pint glass. Pours a lighter brown color with a thin off-white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is of vanilla, caramel, cinnamon and roasted malts. Flavor is of toffee, cinnamon, vanilla and malt with a slight baked-apple flavored finish. Has a smooth mouthfeel. Really enjoyed this one.

500ml bottle.
Pours a syrup brown with a fair sized foamy cream head that dresses the glass with a little bit of lacing. Aroma is roasted malts and plum. The flavour starts caramel fruity. I’m picking up some banana in there. Moves to a gritty dark chocolate burnt flavour and ends similarly but with some hoppy bitterness. Feels a little bit thin and watery to me, but nothing that would stop me from drinking this brewski.

0.5L bottle. Clear dark brown with some red taints. malty aromas strong on caramel, which turn into burnt caramel in the mouth with dark choclate and some black pepper spiciness behind it. finish is extremly dry and a little short. A beer to drink slowly and savour.

Draft Pint: Beautiful dark copper color with a frothy, two-finger, white head. The head was short lived and airy. The flavor was a classic ESB without anything special. It is, in fact, well balanced but I failed to pick up on the fruity character. I guess my palate isn’t up to snuff yet.

Very smooth, slightly hoppy dark beer. I’ll echo some of the eariler sentiments. I’ve had this one in my fridge for a while because of the rediculous label, but I decided to break it out for Halloween. I was going to wash it down with a light beer, but it was really good. I was pleasantly surprised and will buy this one again.
