Great full bodied Dark Ale. The smoothest I have had yet. Filling and totally enjoyable.

Pours clear reddish-orange with a thick fluffy tan head. Dark malt aromas like fresh baked brownies drift through light orange and citrus. Full flavored, dark caramel and toffee, bready thick malt flavors balanced with a nice touch of tangy hops. Sort of like a Fullers 1845 with a chocolaty twist. Love it!

Warm dark brown amber. Foamy off-white head which disapears and leaves some lace. Aroma would be roasted malt, caramel, butterscotch, fermenting apples and with a hint of hops and cherry. Light to the palate and a bit fizzy. Tastes of roasted malt with a hint of resin. Fruity with a hint of banana, Nice enough but slightly boring.

Pours a nice chestnut colour with a good head. Smell is somewhat non existant. Taste is a nice malty faintly roasty. Little hops detected and is too sweet for my tastes. I like a little more bitterness in my brown ales. Quite quaffable, but quite boring at the same time. Wouldn’t go out of my my way to buy it.

Dåse. En mørk rød øl, med et fint skum. Næsten ingen karbonation, men en diskret duft af humle. Smagen er lige i skabet, så alt i alt en god øl.

Bottle. Citrus, flowers, light malty. Small head, white-off-white colour, mostly dimishing. Dark brown clear body. A little bit bitter and sour, average duration. Medium body, dry and creamy, soft carbonation. Nice one, have to check the other stuff from the brewery...

Bottle 500ml (best before 29 Apr 2008). Pours a ruby red with a medium tan head. Aroma of a musty pub carpet that has had years of beer slops and spills. Bottle promises "chocolate toffee malt flavour" but that certainly did not come through in my pint. I picked up on an extreme fruitiness, followed by a weak bitterness. There really was not much more to it than that. It came across weak and watery on the palate. I have been left totally underwhelmed!
