Amber color, nice white head, attractive looking beer. Aroma is sugary, malty, hints of hop aroma. Flavor is typical english, estery, malty but well balanced. Floral hops in the finish, sticky aftertaste. Decent. Braincage1 (137), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jun 18, 2007 Bottle. Ruby brown color with hints of orange and topped by a thin white head. Decent smell of hops and some chocolate malt. Taste is just plain great! Starts with some dull coffee flavors and ends nicely with some sweet fruit for an extra bonus. A bit watery though but still darn freakin good. bardechh (8), USA does not count Jun 18, 2007 Lovely Color, not too much aroma. Flavour is roasty, smooth mildly nutty and sweet but with a very nice bitter hoppy finish. I could easily drink quite a lot of it the way it finishes so clean, a good english ale, I’d but it again. DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel Jun 18, 2007 Draught. Brown-colored with a medium tan head. Aroma of malt and some roastiness. Flavor is malty sweet with some light roast. Some bitterness. Mouthfeel is a bit too thin. AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA Jun 11, 2007 Pours brown with no head. Low carbonation. Aroma is lots of malt, lots of caramel. Flavor is very sweet with some alcohol. Nothing interesting. LordBeamish (144), Boozetown, Ontario, Canada Jun 11, 2007 510 ml bottle: Wow! Now here is a beer that could turn one into a lover of ESBs. I strayed away from this one for a longtime just because the ’goblin’ gave me the willies. However, behind that goblin is a chestnut brown treat that any beer drinker will love. This beer leapt from the bottle, filling my glass with its browny goodness and thin tan head. Lovely, complex, sweet caramel malts give way to a well balanced and bitter finish. A slight hint of coffee finishes this beer off and leads to the next big gulp. Normally, coffee and beer revolts me....but this one is balanced and not overwhelming. Give this one a try.
