Dark amber with roasty malts aroma. Balanced hops & malts with hints of black berries. Farily smooth front to finish with a nice body.

Deep amber/brown color. Short bubbly head. Slightly bittern with a little tickle from carbonization, went down smooth.

Bottled. Clear nut brown, small head. Aroma of plums and roasty malt. Sweet, medium bodied, clean mouthfeel Some hay-like hops mixes with fruits. Straightforward bready malt character, medium bitterness. Solid, but not fun. The other half of my pint appears to work tremendously well in the soup I’m cooking though....

Tea colored, tan thick head, min. lacing. Brown sugar, dough aroma. Nicely balanced palate though a little thin. Hops, sweet malty palate.

This is my first try of this beer from a can. The bottled version is much better. I thought that maybe the can would have a nitro in it, but it did not. Poured out with no head, just a creamy bubble ring around the glass. The aroma is of English noble hops and sweet caramel malts, with raisins too. The flavor is far sweeter than I remember from the bottles I have had before. Maybe too sweet. I will drink just one at a time. Mouthfeel is thick and syrupy, with almost no carbonation. Next time I will buy the bottle.

One of mine "all-time favourites". Nice and smooth and great overall. Sweet, roasty, smooth, bitter and very tasty brew.

On draft in Asheville. Pours a deep brown with slight head. Malty dark aroma with dark fruit. The flavor follows the nose with a slight chocolate and refreshing bitterness. I really do like this beer.

[Bottle, February 2007] Pours deep brown/orange. Small fleeting head. Aroma is not very bold but roasty. Flavor is roasty with berries. Gets a decent score because it is quite drinkable.
