Roasted malt is most noticable to begin with before a slightly fruity character and nice bitterness. I’ve had a lot of this over the years and although nothing to get terribly excited about, it’s certainly a nice drop.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
11.2 oz bottle from Brewmaster’s in Wilson. Dark orange (almost red) pour, murky clarity with mostly diminishing white head. Virtually no lacing. Sweet (light fruit), dry citrus, malt (as it warmed) aroma. Almost tastes like a cider. Very dry on the palate. Not for me, but glad I tried it.

Bottle 500 ml from Boissons Center - Montagny (CH). Mahogany beer with a cream head, some laces on the glass. Strong and earthy aromas of roasted malt, caramel, fruity of hops. The taste is soft, with caramel, a bit chocolate, bread, of the grilled, fruity of raisin, date and almond. Finale on the roasted with earthy and floral hops. Attractive at 15°C.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured red-amber with nice white head. aroma was malty caramel with slight citrus notes. Taste is initially of caramel, toffee malts giving way to a chocolate/slightly roasty malt flavor. Nice hop finish of light hoppy spiciness, herbal and slight citrus flavors. Finish is crisp and clean. Medium bodied. A very enjoyable brew.
