clear dark red-amber colour with an unregular foam, aroma of dark fruits and toffee, malty, robust and fresh with a nice bitter fruity finish and some notes of vanilla - subtle and robust at the same time

Bottle. Pours a coppery red in color, with a very effervescent head. Slightly bitter with a good deal of fruity sweetness. Good stuff.

Good stuff. I bought two bottles at different places. One was fresh for sure, and the other was older. Let me tell you....breweries HAVE to stop using clear bottles, or at least UV coat them. The older one tasted terrible, completely different from the fresh one. Roasty, malty, yet sharp. Big body. Very pleasant drink. The packaging is top shelf, as well.

I really like this Strong Ale. A nice copper-red color, but a short lasting head

I really liked this beer. Nice feel to it, especially liked the colour. Could have done with a touch more hop but I’m a hop addict

Dark pour with a light tan head. The one i had was from a bottle and slightly skunky. But, through that i found dark malts and toffee. The finish is burnt malts. Good when not skunky.

i have been so busy with domestic brews from my local Northcoast Coop I have been neglecting imports. Today I decided to give this one a try. From the bottle it poured a beautiful copper color and produced a nice whiite head. Very nice nose of malts and nuts. At this point I was thnking ... wow ... big rating coming. But mouthfeel was a little fizzy and flavor was kind of unexciting. Finish bitter. Still a nice brew to drink and the appearance and aroma makes the overall rating decent. Whlle not cheap at $3.85 it is worth every penny.
