Aroma was yeasty and sweet malty. Flavor was a wonderful balance of malts and hops. Another fine beer from the UK.

Faintly fishy aroma, head didnt last long, plenty of after taste. Nice label and bottle, but wouldnt buy it just for that.

This beer had the smallest bit of skunk smell to it. I think it is because it comes in a damn clear bottle. In any case, the beer poured a nice reddish brown color with a 1/2 inch white head. Tasted similar to an Oktoberfest style beer but maybe thats just me. Not bad.

Pours dark red amber color with very light head. Sticky lace all over my english pint glass. Aroma is dark fruit, light malt......earthy. Flavor is malty, some caramel, some dark fruit, some nutiness, and chocolate. Oddly enough a very mildly bitter finish with the hop presence muted, it hits me as mostly sweet and malty but a bit dry. There are some good flavors in this one. It does have a finish to it that makes you want another sip soon. I like it.

(Ratin #495)

Beautiful auburn colour. Pours a thin white head. Aromas of caramel malt and hops. Nutty, malt flavours with some hop bitterness. Medium body. Nice mouthfeel. Delicious beer but I can't help but wonder how good it would be if it were in a dark bottle and the LCBO didn't use those 1 million candlepower searchlights in the beer section

Pours clear dark amber, with a medium tan head. Aroma of malt, fruit, toffee, brown sugar. Tastes malty, with hints of brown sugar, toffee, fruit, root beer, and a slight cabernet-dryness type finish. Yet, as it warmed, the caramelly brown sugar came out more. Very complex, very nice style.
