Malty aroma with that touch of sourness that indicates an English bitter. Refreshing with my Saturday lunch, a good sandwish after a hard workout. Bit pricey at $4 a bottle, but good. I won’t turn one down if offered! freekyp (908), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA

Crystal clear for its color, this brew entices with a malty spicy nose. the flavor does not dissapoint. Medium bodied with a full flavor profile that belies its sprightly step. Lots of brown sugar aroma and flavor, hops are straight up the middle and well balanced. wilkie (1193), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

but I can’t taste the roastiness. Little of a coppery finish.
Dissapointing hop finish. I LOVE the bottle. Wish it was conducive
to reuse with homebrew. Gr0ve (1428), Oslo, Norway
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 4, 2008 500 ml bottle. Dark brown with reddish hue. Tall light beige head that clings to the glass. Nutty rich münchener malt aroma. Earthy hops. Smooth texture. Fine carbonation. Powdery malt flavours. Slightly roasted and sweet. Almost vinous. Reminds me a little of the character one finds in Old Peculier. Nice and very drinkable. jpknight22 (171), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

I certainly didn’t think this beer was anything to write home about, but it really wasn’t as bad as everyone has made it out to be. Hobgoblin’s characteristics reminded me a lot of Newcastle with less acidity. Burnt copper coloring throughout with little to no head, and a strong nose. Pleasant palate that wears thin after a few seconds. Decent hop/malt balance. Better than average stuff unless there’s some bad bottles floating around. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA

Fruity malt and wood flavors, mellow cinnamon spiciness, and some nice mild bitterness. Medium body. Enjoyable to drink. CapFlu (3494), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

Pours a reddish amber colour. Has a sweet and fruity flavour with a bitter finish... Dorwart (1832), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 30, 2008 Thin head of fine bubbles that recedes pretty quickly. Strange aroma of Thanksgiving stuffing, spices, roasted malts and some celery. Very unusual!. Color is a bright crimson brown. Nice color. Light bodied with some light malts, spices and a decent bitterness that dries out the tongue. Very crisp and mellow brew. Easy drinking with a good balance. Finishes with some strange "poultry seasoning" flavor. A better than expected brew.
