4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This beer is spot on! It pours a dark ruddy/cloudy copper colour and has a finger and a half or so of head which disippates quickly. Grassy, earthy hop aroma...This beer is loaded with english hops (Challenger, maybe FUGGLES??) which marries nicely with caramelly, toffee flavored malts. I believe I can taste a hint of complex Maris Otter malts. This brewer knew what he was up to - this beer is extremely well balanced. Overall taste is wonderful in this medium bodied, low to moderately carbonated, smooth drinking beer. This beer would pair wonderfully with an array of fine foods - or just by itself. Brewed with the spring water drawn from the headsprings of the Otter River, this beer has become a regular in my portfolio.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours deep red Amber from 12 oz with medium off white head. Aroma of caramel, toast, chocolate and nuts. Semi sweet, biscuity, not over aggressive hops and dry finish. Smooth on the palate with medium body. Delicious beer, very well balanced.

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2015 Brown with a persistent medium beige head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, marmalade, earthy and herbal, some chocolate and red fruits. Taste is sweet: chocolate, red fruits, caramel and toffee. Some yeasty and earthy character in flavour. Malty aftertaste. Delicious beer, could be more bitter.

500 ml can. Hoppy smell, chocolate, dark fruits, roasted malts. Look is perfect! Beautiful dark amber color with a big dense white head that stays. Delicious creamy taste, just a little watersish aftertaste, but it is really nice. Tremendous beer for me, don’t agree with the other moderate reviews at all. This is a top league beer.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nicer-than-average English fruity bitter.
Dark brown/ ruby red.
Sweet aroma - Christmas-blend coffe/ orange chocolate/ caramel sweetness; some bubblegum ester.
Clash of light bitterness and fruity vibes - nice balance.
Medium, creamier-than-average body, a little too much fizz. Finish a bit cliff-drop quick, albeit with a slight fruit return.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. Deep brown with thin head and soft carbonation. Nose has yeasty, cakey, chocolate, coffee with a hint of bubblegum. Taste is hops, apricot, strawberries, coffee with dry tangy bitter finish. Palate is a bit too fizzy, but otherwise a nice beer.

Old rating. Red brown pour. Pretty sweet - caramel, brown sugar, fruity, bready body. Bitterness at the end. Just okay.
