Sep 2, 2008 Sweet yeasty aroma with medium strength lofted from this deep amber-brown colored, thin off-white head covered beer. Tasted of sweet raisin bread. Slight roasted malts and dark fruit with a yeastiness throughout. Palate could have been better, beer bordered on and sometimes crossed over into watery. Overall an enjoyable beer that is above average.

Aug 31, 2008 [500ml bottle at the Movie Bar, Milton Keynes] Shared with Jim - Cheers! Pours much darker than I expected - a deep reddish brown with a large foamy light brown head. I’m not normally a huge fan of Wychwood beers, but this was top notch - lots of roasted malts, some red fruit, sweet without being syrupy and with a deep earthy bitterness following through to take the edge of the sweetness. Best beer of the night.

Aug 30, 2008 Pours dark chestnut brown, enticing. Smells of malt. About a finger of head. Tastes of roasted malt, lots of maltiness, caramel. Creamy palate with carbonation. Not all that bitter for an ESB. Enjoyable.
