jbuzz (465), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Aug 6, 2007 Great full bodied Dark Ale. The smoothest I have had yet. Filling and totally enjoyable.
ewestern (87), Ohio, USA Sep 2, 2008 Sweet yeasty aroma with medium strength lofted from this deep amber-brown colored, thin off-white head covered beer. Tasted of sweet raisin bread. Slight roasted malts and dark fruit with a yeastiness throughout. Palate could have been better, beer bordered on and sometimes crossed over into watery. Overall an enjoyable beer that is above average. JuStuka (143), , Mexico Sep 2, 2008 Well this wasn’t what I expected but it was ok, faint malt aroma, roasted malt and caramel flavor. Gmoney (173), Manchvegas, New Hampshire, USA Sep 1, 2008 bottle.. pours deep caramel brown, thin off white head , minimal lacing. faint malt aroma . roasted malt and caramel flavors with some lingering bitterness.creamy light bodied palate . wheresthepath (226), Buckinghamshire, England Aug 31, 2008 [500ml bottle at the Movie Bar, Milton Keynes] Shared with Jim - Cheers! Pours much darker than I expected - a deep reddish brown with a large foamy light brown head. I’m not normally a huge fan of Wychwood beers, but this was top notch - lots of roasted malts, some red fruit, sweet without being syrupy and with a deep earthy bitterness following through to take the edge of the sweetness. Best beer of the night. Underhook (112), Lincoln Park, New Jersey, USA Aug 30, 2008 Pours dark chestnut brown, enticing. Smells of malt. About a finger of head. Tastes of roasted malt, lots of maltiness, caramel. Creamy palate with carbonation. Not all that bitter for an ESB. Enjoyable.
