12oz bottle pour. Pours dark orange/ruby red with a thin light brown head. Aroma of sweet malt, some fruits, and slight hops. tastes slightly flat with light sweetness up front and moderate bitterness in the second half. This one is pretty bitter. Not much else going on other than the bitterness, but I like it.
Note: My local small town liquor store started carrying this because the owners son raved and raved about it. He even likes it so much he got the hobgoblin tattooed on himself!

Oct 8, 2008 Wow, this stuff is bad. Pours a dark red/brown with little to no head. Aroma is medium, with malt, roastiness, coffee, and some hops. Flavor is not good. Unpleasant bitterness, soured coffee mixed with hops. Some maltiness in the background. Short, watery finish. Avoid.

Oct 7, 2008 Pours a dark amber with medium off-white head. Roasted malts on the nose, malty and coffee/chocolate on the finish. Not bad, but probably not quite worth the price I paid for it.

Oct 5, 2008 Pours a dark brown w/slight reddish tint, almost like a cola. Beige head goes flat instantly. Malty nose with some banana bread. Caramel and chocolate flavor. But there’s something else in it that I can’t describe. Like an artificial taste. I don’t like it, and it drags this way down. Short after-taste. This stuff tries, I mean it really tries. But that unusual taste in the backdrop is killing it.
