Pour a beautiful deep ruby colour with a frothy mocha head. Nose was hoppy with fruit and toffy undertones. Malt flavour with subtle bitterness. For a gimmicky beer, it wasn’t bad at all. It’s what all the kids at Hogwarts are drinking when the teachers aren’t around. (500ml bottle)

Oct 11, 2008 Not too bad. I like the way the bottle looks and the color of the ale as well. Nice and dark with a little red in it (cherry wood as my gf says). I can smell hints of malts, nuts, and something of a fruity scent. Has that nut brown ale flavor to it with with something a little sweet in it. Aftertaste is pretty smooth making this an enjoyable brew.

Oct 8, 2008 Wow, this stuff is bad. Pours a dark red/brown with little to no head. Aroma is medium, with malt, roastiness, coffee, and some hops. Flavor is not good. Unpleasant bitterness, soured coffee mixed with hops. Some maltiness in the background. Short, watery finish. Avoid.

Oct 7, 2008 Pours a dark amber with medium off-white head. Roasted malts on the nose, malty and coffee/chocolate on the finish. Not bad, but probably not quite worth the price I paid for it.
