3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured into a stange.
Color is a dark dark coller amber, basically brown. Pours a very fluffy brown head, that leaves thick lace rings.
Smell is nutty and chocolatey. Taste is very similiar. It is rich and malty. There is also an earthy hop flavor.
Mouthfeel is bitter, but creamy at the same time. It goes down easy and has great carbonation.
Overall, this is a very easy to drink beer. I really enjoyed this and I can see myself getting some more of this when I am looking for a brown ale. It represents the style quite well!

500ml bottle the Boneyard Bingo edition. Love the bottle graphic design. Aroma is green apples and hard candy. Pours clear ruby brown with a small off white head that goes down fast and leaves minimal lacing. Taste is malty caramel and burnt brown sugar, a bit sour and with a minimum bitterness in the finish. Not much carbonation but it’s there. Does no feel watery but I would not call it full either, fine for a brown ale. Overall I did not enjoy it this time as much as I did a while back, either my taste has evolved odleg?o?ci the beer got worse (it could always be a bad bottle)

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Donker robijnrood van kleur, 1 vinger hoge crèmekleurige schuimkraag, wazig, weinig koolzuur.
Aroma: Moutig, toffee, karamel, licht chocolade, licht citrus en licht fruitig.
Smaak: Donkere mouten, biscuit/brood, toffee, iets chocolademouten, zoete graanmouten, bitter en prikkelig/netelig/floraal.
Medium body, matig koolzuur, zacht en romig mondgevoel, afdronk is fruitig bitter.
Ik vind hem best lekker.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
- braunschwarze Farbe mit leichter Schaumbildung
- Aromen nach Apfel, Malz Bitterschokolade und etwas Himbeere
- passende Carbonisierung

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma: mostly sweet malts with very slight notes of hops. Appearance: dark ruby coloured with thick cream head, which has some retention. Taste: slightly nutty malts with some fruit combined with bitterness. A very solid enjoyable English ale.

Bottle - dark ruby, small off white head. Strong fruity caramel aroma. Ting tongue / mouth. Better when settled down, decent fruity bitter tasting. Ok beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Intense sweet caramel malts, spices, grain and sweet bread malts. Clear, dark amber, medium, creamy, off-white head. Light sweet. More sweet grain and bread malts, caramel, spices, soft carbonation, medium bodied, lightly bitter finish. Decent ESB, nothing too complex but quite solid. Bottle from Wine Rack, Chiswick.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Copper body, small head. Weak aroma, I get flower soap and some red berries. Body is on the thin side. Sweet and sour taste with some light Fuggles in the finish. Too watery and the hopping feels industrial. Could have been a landmark beer in the past but in this form it should not belong to any "must drink before you die" list at all (as the tags here indicate). Rather poor.

So this must be the real Champagne of Beers - holy carbonation. This is a darker ruby that has more bubbles than the taste can handle.
Negative points for wasting the "Hop-Goblin" naming pun. Of course this would have required hops and a truly different flavor of beer but still...
