2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
500 mL bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a hazy, murky brown with only a ring of white foam around the edge of the glass. The aroma has notes of dates, toffee, paper, cotton balls. Wow, this is really not good. The taste is like a brown paper bag soaked in toilet water. Maybe that’s too strong. It doesn’t taste particularly bad, but it really is not enjoyable. It’s extra neutral and extra papery. Low carbonation and medium bodied. This one is going down the drain.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle. Dark reddish brown, decent head. Sour-dough aroma, not much hops. Taste was sweet, bready, a little sour in the finish, a little dirt, but not dirty. Medium body. Overall, it was like halfway between a bitter and a barley wine. Full bodied and flavourful enough to drink, making it somewhat better than other offerings I’ve had from Wychwood.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a nice dark brown with a frothy head. Smells very, very malty with a slight hint of alcohol. Taste is of sweet grains, bread, hay, cinnamon, and sweet cocoa. It is very very palatable. Very smooth and crisp and refreshing.
