Sweet fruity malt aroma. Hazy amber color with a medium tan head. Moderate sweet beginning with a mild alcohol bitterness in the finish.

As with all Wychwood beers, I’m initially put off by the naff label and branding. Aroma of dark molasses , smokey and malty. Taste - some sweetness at first - then very bitter. I like it but I can’t get past the bitterness. I keep trying to look for more in that bitterness, but it’s very one note as others have noted. So there you are.

Brewed under a full lunar moon. If I’d been around at the time, you know, pre rock and roll days, I’d have been a fan of The Lunar Society. Who they you say? The Lunar Society of Birmingham was a dinner club and informal learned society of prominent figures in the Midlands Enlightenment, including industrialists, natural philosophers and intellectuals, who met regularly between 1765 and 1813 in Birmingham, England. At first called the Lunar Circle, "Lunar Society" became the formal name by 1775. The name arose because the society would meet during the full moon, as the extra light made the journey home easier and safer in the absence of street lighting. The members cheerfully referred to themselves as "lunarticks", a pun on lunatics. Venues included Erasmus Darwin’s home in Lichfield, Matthew Boulton’s home, Soho House, and Great Barr Hall. I get nail polish.

This pours a brownish amber with a nice off white head. Very malty with a light fruit flavor, overall decent

Dobre i wyraziste piwo o pięknej puszystej pianie, ale niestety szybko opada. Kolor rubinowo czerwony. A smak goryczkowo-wytrawny i intensywny. Piwo ciekawe bo ważone o pełni księżyca, nie wiem czy to miało jakiś znaczący wpływ na smak ale fajna ciekawostka. Alkochol wogóle niewyczuwalny.

Pours a semicloudy deep amber brew wit a diminute whitw head with poor retention, aroma is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with notes of caramel, fruity malt and floral hop, médium bodied, the flavor has notes of caramel, fruity malt and floral hops, bittersweet fiinish, one dimensional.

Pours a clear deep copper colour with a white head that slowly dies down leaving good lacing. Lots of fruit aromas on the nose, notably plum and raisin, as well as some malty notes. Taste is largely the same, dominated by dark fruit and caramel but with a bit of a hop kick at the end and some warming alcohol, with a lingering finish. Some other ratings noted the beer being rather unbalanced. I frankly didn’t find that. Maybe the long journey from the UK to Australia knocked some of the edges off this one.
