Beautifully rich, strong ale with an air of prestige about it. Satisfying and mysterious, much like itís progenitor.

500ml brown bottle. An amber brown beer with an ample dense cream white head. Nose is sugary sweet with notes of raisins and plums together with flowery hops and a hint of alcohol. Taste is medium to full bodied fruity malts with a medium English hop finish. Lovely smooth easy drinking palate. Like a turbo charged Hobgoblin.

Light grain and yeast aroma. A nice, foamy head sits comfortably atop this reddish brown pour. Fairly bready flavor with some sweet malt, hops, and molasses. Flat on the palate (how English). Balanced and drinkable, but a little watery.

StueyD (1207) - Heacham, Norfolk, ENGLAND - MAY 17, 2012
Dark, flame orange coloured beer with a thick off white head. Roasted malt aroma is followed by a slightly grassy hop element. Full-bodied mouthfeel. The taste follows on from the aroma, only in reverse! The hops come through initally, resinous (which could also be put down to the alcohol), grassy, a touch citrusy and quite bitter. This is then followed by a slightly sweet, biscuity malt flavour. Both of which are present right through the long finish.

500 ml bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of carmel, toffee, plum, light cherry and a hint of earthiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of toffee, plum, cherry and light pipe tobacco with a smooth dry lingering fruity toffee finish.

a sucker for special releases. Odd as an American to think that a 6.6% abv beer can be called a strong ale. Color is full caramel amber. Aroma is a touch toffee and pumus soap and malt. taste is light butteriness with some sweetness and mineral quality. Probably better enjoyed in a pub.

I was not disappointed with king goblin, spicy, herbal aroma with balanced flavor, coffee, butter, moderate body and tremendous finish.

50cl bottle. Pours a dark red/brown liquid with almost no head. Nose : caramel and dough, some flower and nuts aromas. Raisins. Sip : Low to medium density with oily and a bit creamy texture. Carbonation is delicate. Sweet and quite fruity with a rich bitter hop ending. Tastes like US hops. Roasted malts adds well to the bitter aftertaste. Nice. Extra points for the full moon abracadabra ;}
