Decent malty aroma, a bit of vinous character. The flavor is caramel, grain and a slight acidity. Not the best due to the body being a bit thin, a decent ale though.

Pours a ruby brown with a thin white top. Aroma is mostly malt, toffee and a little boozy. Taste is a solid malt profile with toffee and a slight spice. Nice beer.

500ml bottle from the LCBO. not a ton going on with this one. pours light brown with almost no head and minimaly carbonated. subtle malty nose, no hops in the nose. balanced flavour with more hop flavour then i was expecting. bitterness to balance. not bad, but pretty meh overall.

Bottle. Pours a dark ruby red color with a off white head. Aroma is of dark fruits, plums, fruit cake, marmelade, light citrus, earthiness, nutty notes, caramel and toffee. The flavor is kind of the same, very traditional british, with lots of maramaldy fruty esters along with fruit cake, dark fruits, earthiness, caramel, toffee, nutty notes and again subtle citus notes. The body is medium with a lightly dry mouthfeel. Overall a pretty solid English Strong Ale.

Davros (1991) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - OCT 21, 2011
UPDATED: AUG 21, 2012 Pours copper with a large fading head. Nose shows banana, nutty and grainy malt and sultanas. Also a faint industrial note. The nutty, grainy malt transfers through as a flavour along with the industrial note. Some caramel is also apparent. Body seems pretty thin.

500 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours clear, dark copper, almost brown in colour, nice fine off white head, leaves some nice lacing. Aroma and taste are a nicely balanced beer, somewhat sweet malt, earthy hints, can tell if that’s hops or malt. Almost nutty in fact. Interesting, good.

Typical wychwood aroma, light hops, caramel malts, and some sweet bread, and fruits. Woody notes, light mouthfeel, booze is a little bit there in the finish. Semi dry, and a good carb. finish is a little hoppy, with some more typical mineraly wychwood malts. Not bad, not great.
