Beautiful bottle. Quite persistent light beige head on the clear amber body, uneven carpets here and there in the mug. Juicy fruity dark malts and slightly fermented apricots to the nose, plus lots of spicy stuff. Tongue gets brown fruity caramel malts, malted candies, spicy hops, notes of cinnamon, vanilla, nuts, dark almonds, sweet roasted stuff too. Feels clean and well bodied. Soft nice finish with dark caramels, sweet brown bread. Good. I think I need to howl now..... [500ml br.spc.btl 6.6%abv B@Alko FI BB20.04.15 T@hömeInTromsoe]

No head, sweet rich malt. A nice floral palate, with rich sweetness and a hint of bitterness. A major step up from the regularhobgoblin ale

A nice ale. Great aromas of bubblegum and candy. Strawberries too. Flavors are sweet and fruity with a balanced hoppy finish. Good stuff.

Over sweet malt on the nose, and while there are some interesting flavous in the beer, they seem too reserved, hiding in the background. Not terrible, a decent esb .

Aromas of caramel, toast, and dried fruit. Clear ruby with a somewhat lasting white head. Malty sweet initially, fruity, balance is definitely towards malts. Medium bodied.

Pours a dark coppery color topped with decent off-white head. A relatively mild malty aroma, notes of caramel and some alcohol smell. The taste starts sweet, fruity, little alcohol taste in the body with some fairly pleasant bitterness in teh finish. A bit too sweet and malty, but still very nice.

Bottle, 0.50l. Clear mahogany color with medium creamy off-white head, very nice lacing and soft visible carbonation. Aroma of caramel, cereals, pumpkin, dust, grassy hops and alcohol. Taste starts with light sweet caramel, follows by notes of wood, grainy malt and dark fruits, mouthfeel is mild spicy and alcoholic, while finish is medium bitter. Medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Surprisingly good, just strong enough and pretty palatable...

Taste of raisins, toffee, caramel. Aromas of figs and raisins, caramel, earthy hops and malt. Decent but I prefer Hobgoblin.

I like this style of beer and I like Hobgoblin, especially from the bottle. I’m not sure this is much better that the standard Hobgoblin ale but it’s good, in a classic Englisg bitter way. Dark brown with red tones, a medium body and little lasting head. Pleasant rather than powerful aroma, with plums, figs and nuts in the taste before soft toffee comes in, and a slightly bitter closure.
