Fruity (cooked raisins, prunes), peaty UKPA aroma. Cloudy, medium walnut-wood color, white filmy head. Good embossed brown bottle, OK label. A tangy fruitiness up front, medium sweetness, implied ginger perhaps, a bit leathery. Medium bittering, light astringency, and a lingering non-resinous, non-fruity hop. Medium body, peppery-prickly mouthfeel, slightly warming. Eventually, it had a citric acid sort of fruitiness at the very end. This had some promise, stumbled a bit in the execution. Market Square Liquors, Timberlane.

500ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a very clear medium copper colour with a small off white head that leaves a bit of film. Nose is fruit and caramel. Quite sweet caramel start with a mild bitter finish. Mouth is on the light side of medium and a bit thin with soft carbonation. Some interesting subtleties and easy drinking.

A nice light copper color and light head. Very nice nutty aroma that is not too overpowering. Somewhat sweet caramelike taste at the front with a very mild only slightly bitter finish. Not over hopped. Sweeter than I normally like but this is very well balanced. Very nice beer for a cold evening. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml Bottle: BBD 31 Jul 14, poured (twice) into a La Chouffe stemmed tulip at home on 29 Dec 13. Lovely light ruby red hue to the amber brown body: clear and clean looking, on top of each pour sat a creamy foam that gave good lacing. Caramel, toffee and all the other malty molasses combine in the aroma to give a rich and sweet nose to the beer. The taste follows, but it isn’t as sweet s the smell indicates, this is more complex than just a sweet malty brew. The hops may well be hiding but they still give the beer a little balance and a mini bitterness towards the end of each sip. Good feel to this beer: I make no secret about my preference towards malty, sweeter brews and this sits right in that slot for me. If this was brewed by some fancy Dan brewery people would be pontificating about it for ages, well they should do so even if it’s from a Marston’s subsidiary like Wychwood.

Moebbels (303) - FINLAND - DEC 28, 2013
Clear light amber body with a well lasting light tan head that leaves a little lacing. Nose is mild withsome floral notes and lots of caramel. Taste starts off with a lovely caramelly sweetness that is followed by the bitter aftertaste that leads to a mildly bitter finish. Carbonation is on the soft side and the palate is fairly thin but still nicely in balance. Overall quite nice but could use a little more aroma hops.

Very nice beer. It is balanced and a little bit sweet before the biterness took place.

Tallahassee, Fl - New Leaf Market - 500 ml bottle. Medium copper pour, eggshell white head, hint of lacing. Aroma has some toffee notes, a hint of spice and licorice. Flavor has a sweet toffee essence to it with some nuttiness, a touch of licorice, some astringent notes. Bitters near the end. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Decent.

Mørk, rød/svart farge, lukter fantastisk av karamell, malt og jul. Flott, tykt kremhvitt skumlag, bra med kullsyre. Desverre er smaken vesentlig tammere enn aromaen, men alt i alt en positiv opplevelse.

Bottle 500ml @Beer Factory, Athens
Dark copper brown color, small steady beige head. Aroma has caramel, nuts, light spicey notes. Medium-bodied. Nutty malty, caramelly, very Fullers ESBish flavor. Short finish. Good drink but not very exiciting.
