Brownish color, little foam persistent, slightly fruity aroma of chocolate. Its flavor surprising for a Strong Ale proving very balanced and excellent drinkability.

bottle @ Party Source / Bellevue KY --- Clear dark amber with a solid 1/2" beige head, streamers of lace. Aroma of malt and earth. Taste is malt and molasses that grow through the palate to a light dose of hops, moving smoothly from there to a long hop and malt finish. Unassuming, not very complex, but full-bodied and easy to drink.

Bottle 0,50L. Clear, copper colour with small, off-white, frothy head and excellent lacing. Mostly sweet malty aroma. Taste starts medium bitter with dark fruits and caramel. finish is medium bitter, too. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Nice, smooth brew. Alcohol is present, but hidden. Probably best Marston’s brew.

500ml bottle from ASDA, BB Dec 2015. Dark reddy amber, sparkling, big creamy head, full lacing. Aroma is sweet, currants, wallpaper paste, yeasty like a Belgian beer. Body is medium, very foamy, low carbonation. Taste is tangy malt, some alcohol, yeasty. Slow drinking Belgian-style ale. Pretty decent.

Smell is kind of malty and aley. Taste is malty and biscuity with notes similar to a nice trappist ale or doppelbock. Medium carbonation with medium body and light foam. Mouthfeel is somewhat creamy. Aftertaste is bittersweet.

Nice bottle for a seasonal beer. Full of lovely aromas like caramel, cereal and woods. Appealing ruby color, properly foamy, not excessively. Tasty and rich, thick without being hevy.

Bottle, 500ml. Pours clear, dark reddish-brown. Head is short, almost non-existing, light and slightly lasting. Aroma of sweet malt, yeast, bread, raisins, sweet dark fruits. Mouth feel is slightly creamy to oily, body is medium, carbonation is medium-soft. Taste is nicely sweet, not too much with some light balancing bitterness and lightly bitter finish. Flavor is biscuit, bready, sweet dark malt, butter at first. Then raisins, slightly wineouss, some complex tasting herbal hops, yeast and some umami. Then slightly bitter, grassy-herbal hops towards the finish. Very good with complex, interesting flavors and good balance and interplay of sweetness and bitterness. Nice gentle but flavorful hops, backed by a very bready-malty base that is not too sweet. Nice!
