UPDATED: FEB 8, 2016 Bottle 500ml. Served at cellar temperature. Pours a clear copper with a foamy, off-white head that is mostly lasting. Aroma is sweet and malty with earthy hops, toffee, vanilla bean, brown sugar, muscatels and marmalade . Flavour is very smooth and sweet with a light earthy hop bitterness, chestnuts, caramel, biscuits, brown sugar, dried currants and dried peaches. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, a chewy texture and a good length finish. Well hidden alcohol content. Finishes a little ’thin’ but tasty all the same.

pours a translucent brown with medium cream head. fairly strong malt aromas. taste is caramel, hazelnut and burnt toffee. finish is toffee, molasses and alcohol. overall, an enjoyable, yet very drinkable (despite the high gravity) beer. The best Wychwood offering I have had - by far.

500ml bottle served in a pint glass. Pours a clear copper amber color forming a medium to small yellow head with good retention. Strong caramel, resin, dry plums and flowery hops. Taste follows the nose. Very malty with strong notes of caramel, dry plums and grassy hops. Good bitterness. Medium body and carbonation. Great drinkability. Strong British character.

Rich copper/antique gold in appearance, clear, with an off white foam. Aromas of caramel with also fruity notes, in particular orange and peach. Medium body and smooth, simple in flavour with strong malt taste, a subtle alcoholic tang. Decent but missing the complexity in taste.

Bottle. Dark red color with medium light brown head. Aroma of pine, malt, caramel and some fruits and chocolate? Flavor is mostly caramely with tobacco and orange notes. Malty and sweet with some something spicy in finish. Low-medium carbonation. Overall: I really like malty british beers. And this is example of really good one.

breadish, malty aromas with a fruity essence. it pours an amber body with a one finger off white head that leaves a slight trace after a while.the body is mediumish and it very pleasant to the mouth.it tastes sweet bread and malt and it leaves a sweetish aftertaste with just a tone of biterness.the alcohol is there but very well disguised.

Had many times, not sure how I missed reviewing. Clear copper pour with quickly disappearing off-white top. Aromas are bread and caramel. The malt makes up most of the flavor, very smooth and semi-sweet. Really balanced, with a clean, somewhat dry finish. I really like this stuff.

Bottle 500 ml. Rich in taste and aroma, strong roasted and caramel notes, hoppy and malty bitterness, yet again the English style beers do not convince me entirely.
