Box describes beer as an English Strong Ale, not an ESB. I tried this beer on October 6, 2011 after purchasing from the Queen’s Quay LCBO outlet in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent dark rusty-red colour with a thin tan head that quickly disappeared. The aroma was nutty malt, floral hops, and dark fruits. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was sweet, malty, with some nuts. Alcohol was noticeable.

Pours dark amber colored with high, creamy head. Smells hoppy and yeasty, with caramelly malts. Starts with bitterish hops, some biscuity malts and yeasty ester flavor. Middle part is malty-sourish, yeasty, with some biscuit and floral hops. Goes into a malty-roasty finish with some belgian yeast flavor and bitter hops!

Aromas ricos y agradables a granos, principalmente malta de cebada y ligeros aromas citricos a naranja.
En su apariencia, color cobre con destellos rojizos, cuerpo medio y corna de espuma de mediana reterncjon.
En boca es suave y presenta un muy buen equilibrio entre dulzor y amargor.
Al paladar es una cerveza agradable y fácil de tomar. En primera instancia es suave, muy ligera y con un ligrro dulzor. Finalmente se percibe un final seco y ligeramente amargo que dota de equilibrio a esta buena cerveza.
En general es una buena y sabrosa cerveza que combina el dulzor de la malta con el amargo final, dotando de caracter a esta buena cerveza.

Pours amber orange near clear with light off white head. Aromas of crystal malts, biscuit yeasty esters and light floral hops. Med light body, med carbonation, mineral salty character finishing lightly sweet, toasty

(12/2011) bottle. Amber, a bit of sweet malts, hops (british) and alcohol. Surprisingly smooth on the palate, but with a bit of hotness coming through. A well made, strong engllish ale.

(Bottle): Pours an amber with ruby tint, small white head. Sweet malty aroma with floral and citrus notes. Taste has strong fruity sweetness, malt, caramel with some earthy, floral notes coming through with the bitterness on the finish. It’s pretty good, a little too sweet - I prefer hobgoblin to this.

Smak och doft av malt, humle, karamell, torkad frukt, toner av körsbär. Bra balans mellan sötma och beska.

Amber with a white head. Aroma is full of toffee and grass. Flavor is caramel and toffee with some grass and earth mixed in. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Similar to hobgoblin. Pours amber with small diminishing head to no head. Aromas malty and sweet. Tastes light bitter and sweet, pleasant stronger hobgoblin.
