COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Seasonal, Spring;
A dream ticket of a beer, full of flavour with a touch of the blarney. Brewed using dark crystal malt and with a robust coffee caramel flavour, it doesn’t leave a bitter taste as it’s a winner everyone can back!

Cask conditioned handpump Racehorse Northampton. A black stout with a good off-white bubbly head. Some slightly roasty malt notes in the aroma together with a dash of vegetation. Roasty in the mouth and in spite of it needing more depth, there’s an unexpected dash of citrus at the end. Hmmm.

(Cask at Carpenter’s Arms, Marble Arch, London, 21 April 2012) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, chocolate, ashes and roasted malt. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, chocolate, dark bread and a balanced coffee bitterness in the finish. Rather light body, quite dry. Highly drinkable and quite nice.

Cask at the The Flowerpot, Hurley? Berkshire, on the latest leg of the Thames Tipple 11-04-09 Pours dark brown with a light beige head. Roasty and slightly nutty tasting, really good ground coffee flavours, some burnt wood. Far better than I was epxecting, not bad at all. A6 A3 F7 P4 Ov14 3.4

A day after St. Patrick’s Day! Almost opaque brown color, creamy brown head. Quite weak nose: just a bit of chocolate, lactose and toasted malts. Silky soft palate. Coffee, toasted malts and lactose in the flavor. Lingering coffee and some hops in the aftertaste. It’s a bit like Guinness with milk stout kick. Good but light.

Cask at The Churchill Tavern, Ramsgate: Opaque, black beer with a small tan head. Roasted malt and a nice hit of chocolate. This is actually a pretty tasty stout and completely caught me off guard, well done Wychwood. Not a patch on the ’old’ Hobgoblin though...

Cask handpull at The Pheasant, Ashford. Black with brown edges, lasting cream head. Some nice choc, on an ok aroma. Light in mouth, more a roasted dark mild than a stout. Quite roast on the finish.

A Mes rate. Cask at Baker Street Hobgoblin.
Almost black mahogany coloured with a thin beige head. Slight eggy sulphurous but a decent dark malt base keeps it on track. Plenty of liquorice, lots of burnt malt and a decent bitterness in the finish. Better than their usual rubbish but no show stopper.

Cask Handpump at the Stork Hotel, Birkenhead 27/03/2010 Some roast aroma. Dark coloured and rich on the palate with a hint of dryness in a crisp and bitter finish.
