2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Red brown colour, thick foamy head. Slightly sweet and medicinal aroma. Has a syrupy fruitiness. Fells quite heavy and cloying in the mouth.

2.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml bottle. Pasturised. Hmm, some fruit juice - yes, plum. A bit of tin. Some co2 gas. Rather thin mouthfeel for a 5%. Hmm. This would not be half bad if it was live and unfiltered, but the processing it has gone through has removed the genuine character and the best parts of the flavour. It ends up more odd than tasty. Anyway, it is malty and drinkable - with just a nip of mace at the end. OK

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. An amber coloured beer with a rich red hue. Said to be a Christmas beer with plums and spices. I get the plums in what is predominantly a decent fruity malty beer, but the spices are very minimal. Some sugary sweetness and wet paper. Better than average by Wychwood standards.

A kind gift from Mes & Sim, cheers guys...Uuuum, yeah...
Iíve put it off for a while but the much anticipated moment has arrived...
Anyway, copper with an off white head. Nose is quite malty with some sweet brown sugar notes and spicy dark fruit, almost a port like hint also. Taste is much the same, sweet plum and malt, pretty awful actually...
The name says it all really...itís basically Plumb Duff...

Bottle from Sainsburyís. Malty, alcohol, yeast abnd fruity nose. Ruby red colour. Taste of plum, yeast, malt. An enduring sweet aftertaste. Tart and fruity with some cloying. Not bad but typically simple from Wychwood.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled, pasteurised, 500ml. From Sainsburys, Banbury. Chestnut to ruby colour with malty head. What looks like an exceptionally good looking beer quickly disappoints in the flavour department. There is a fuller, rich malty, fruity beer in there somewhere, but you have t get through layers of wet cardboard and indistinguishable spices first, like wrapping on a Christmas present. It is flat and lifeless in the end, and it looked so good in its wrapping, an annual problem unfortunately.

Ruby almost sherry like appearance. No head and no carbonation.Slight spiciness with a lingering sweetness makes for a pleasant winters drink.
