1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottled at chriso’s. Clear amber, small head. Butter aroma. Mid sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Some fatty spices. Lifeless and just as dull as you can expect a Wychwood beer to be.

Warning! Early amateur rating! Can taste neither the pumpkin or the mace in this! A dark brown beer with a bitter toffee flavour. Okay.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml bottle from Sainsbury. Some spiciness from the mace, especially on the finish. Odd beer, some dry malt, some dried fruits. Bit of a Lyons Ginger Cake likeness to it. Aroma of spice and dry malt/ginger. Relatively interesting. Fine. Nice ginger/spice/dry malt flavours.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Fiery amber colour. Toasty aroma with caramel, earthy Northdowns, and a slight metallic note...not bad. Lifeless palate undermines the whole effort - a vague compendium of exported English ale cliches: spent grains, caramel, slight earthiness and a hint of metal. Finishes dry, but blandly and quickly.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled, Pasteurised. Nice clear blood orange colour, short lasting head. It makes a nice change to say it, but this is quite a decent Wychwood bottled beer. Not too much forced fizz or over boiled flavours, but a pleasant malty fruit beer with a restrained hop note.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Nice reddish brown ale which pours a light moka head which collapses quickly. Metallic tin aroma. The annoying metallic taste covers the malt, which barely makes it in post-taste. An unpleasant bitterness seaps through at the end.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home in London, with Lyoli. Pours clear copper with a soft, white head. Some crunchy malts on the nose, biscuits, light leaves. Medium sweet flavor, light caramel, mild bitterness, light toast. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Fairly dry finish, more leaves, some fruits, subtle toffee, toasted sugar, a bit of bread. Decent.
