A delicate ruby-coloured beer with the rich, heady aroma of English Northdown hops. Pumpking is brewed using an aromatic barley malt which imparts a flavour reminiscent of dried fruits. The Northdown hops provide a balance with a heady, hoppy, bitterness. A delightful mysterious blend of pleasures.

Amber with a good head, fruity aroma, fruity and slightly hoppy taste, not at all like the other pumpkin beers I have tried, this one was quite good.

3.8% from Trinkgut in Wuppertal. Smooth spicy beginning. Malty dry body, full and round with nice fruity spices in the background. Not real pumpkin tasteable, but fruity-sweetish in the background, nice spices and an earthy herbal bitterness in the end. Nice stuff!

Bottle. Pours a clear deep amber colour with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel, slight toffee, some red berries, subtle spice and peppery hops, quite artificial. Taste of caramel, red berries, a little pumpkin, subtle spice, fruity malt, some yeast and slight peppery hops. Light bodied, moderate carbonation but a watery texture. A short and malty, spicy hop bitterness in the finish. Not really a pumpkin beer but I wasn’t expecting a lot. Decent spice but artificial and thin.

500ml bottle from Morrisons (£1):
A pretty disappointing beer despite the beer starting okay with a nice enough looking body & an okay smell; it was still better than the bottle of Forest Fruits from the brewery I tried some time back but only just. It seemed weak & uninteresting with too much bitterness; the only plus was that it was on special & I didn’t pay full price.

Clear copper color with small off white foam. Malty aroma with small hint of hops, not very strong though. Taste on the watery side with bitter aftertaste that does not last. Has bit of hops on taste too.

Bottle from Aldi. (89p) Pours ruby red with a 2 finger off white head. Aroma of sweet malts, caramel, spices...Taste of initial sweet malts, caramel, toffee, then some spices, dark fruits, berries and then finally a slightly peppery yet synthetic faint pumpkin taste. Not the best Pumpkin Ale at all. Not great but not bad for 89p!

Bottle. Reddish amber beer with a very strong head. The aroma is mildly hopped with some roastedness and yeastiness. The flavour is very yeasty with plenty of bitterness. Overall a beer with too much yeastiness for my liking. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home. Pours copper amber, nose is light caramel and fruit, taste is a bit wishy washy.
