Traditionally craft brewed in Oxfordshire using organically grown English Barley Malt and Organic Target Hops. Scarecrow is a wonderfully refreshing Golden Ale evoking lazy, hazy days of summer in golden meadows & ripe barleyfields. A winning combination of tart citric fruit flavours perfectly balanced by a rich biscuity maltiness and rounded off with a spicy bittersweet finish.

golden colour, half inch off-white head; aroma of hay, grass, sweat and some floral hops; taste of hay and grass again, some malty-biscuity notes, cardboard and hints of fruits; below the average bitter

I should say upfront that I’m not big on organic beer. This one is not terrible but I didn’t love it by any stretch of the imagination. It’s burnt sienna in color, the head fades quickly. Strong smell of apples over top of that usual off-putting, sulphur-like organic thing. That sulphur is there in the flavor, too. It isn’t quite enough to ruin it, but not by much. Slightly sweet. Not something I’ll drink again.

Thin, watery orange/amber foulness, carbonated with scarecrow flatulence. Lingering astringent mouth buzz won’t go away. To its defense, organics aren’t my bag. Down with manure!

Pours a clear copper with a medium head, aroma is dominated by fruity esters. Tasting notes include lots of fruit, light malts, and medium carbonation. Relatively thin palate, and a dry finish. Not bad overall.

From a bottle. Clear amber, tightly bubbled white head, mild aroma and flavours, a bit bland with a slightly bitter aftertaste. A bit watery to be a really good beer, the warning should have been the ’organic’ on the label.

500ml bottle. Poured a clear straw to a 1 1/2 finger bubbly head. Disipated quickly. Caramel and citrus notes. Very light aroma.Fresh full flavour. Lightly sweet with a touch of bitterness at the finish, but just the right amount. Th only downsized is that the finish last long enough to become a slightly bitter aftertaste. Somewhat in between thin and oily texture. Soft carbonation that remained for the full life. Overall, nice.
