Traditionally craft brewed in Oxfordshire using organically grown English Barley Malt and Organic Target Hops. Scarecrow is a wonderfully refreshing Golden Ale evoking lazy, hazy days of summer in golden meadows & ripe barleyfields. A winning combination of tart citric fruit flavours perfectly balanced by a rich biscuity maltiness and rounded off with a spicy bittersweet finish.

A thin head with no retention on a hazy, dirty straw colored body. The aroma is malty with apricot. The taste is watery overall, mild bitterness and lemon. The texture is smooth, moderate carbonation and medium body. A disappointment, particularly in the taste department.

500ml Flasche. Dunkelgelbes Bier, cremiger Schaum. Es riecht nach Trauben und Getreide. Wenig Kohlensäure. Bitter im Antrunk. Wenig Körper. Gras und Kräuter.

Hazy golden color with moderate activity. Slightly creamy beige 1 finger head, lasting around 5 minutes, with moderate legs. Flavors of caramel, honey, barley, leafy hops. Lots of sugars but well balanced from some bitter grassy hops. Oily smooth almost full body with the perfect amount of crispy carbonation. Light finish, short lingering roasted malts with butterscotch and a dash of herbal spices. Slightly missing some freshness being a little flat and thick. Else the flavors are nice and the feel ends well with tongue coating honey. Overall decent quality craft.

500ml bottle from Ken Warne, Darlington. Golden colour, white foam head leaving lacing and grain, citrus in the aroma. Taste is malty & grainy, with some biscuit, and fruity citric & grassy metallic hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. Quite OK.

aka Circle Master. Pours a huge bubbly white foamy head. Appearance is slight dark golden colours. Has thick lacing. Malty aromas as well as some grassy/earthy and floral scents. Pretty faint hops. Flavours are of light roasted malts. Some citrus like flavours as well, more hoppy in taste than aromas. Has a creamy mouthfeel. Smoothness on the palate. Average retention and medium carbonation. Not too bad, easy drinking.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Nose has some spicy hops, grass, mild dishrag-y malt. Flavor is dry, hops, biscuity malt notes, some vague fruity sweetness. Malty finish, some dishrag in the background, malt and mild malty acidity. Nice malt character, not so nice dishrag. Drinkable though.

Pours clear golden, big offwhite head, little lacing. Nose of light malts, some citrusy/spicy/herbal notes and a hint of honey. Tastes light sour and light sweet upfront, very light bitterness gets more prominent on finish. High carbonation, somewhat sticky finish. A light refreshing summer golden ale, somewhat overcarbonated.
