COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
’Butty Bach’ is Welsh for ’little friend’. This full-bodied, smooth and satisfying premium ale is burnished gold in colour, and certainly has made a few friends in its time.
We brew it using Maris Otter and Crystal malts, flaked barley, malted wheat, and locally grown Fuggles, Goldings and Bramling Cross hops. With such fine ingredients, no wonder it remains a firm favourite among our followers.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s Pours copper, with a single finger white head. Carbonation medium to high. Aroma of malts, light hops, orange, grass. Taste of initial malts, orange, smokiness, then some grass, honey, woodiness and light hops to finish. Nice.

Bottle from Tesco, pours a light gold colour with minimal white head which quickly vanishes. Smell is caramel malt and slightly floral hop. Taste is medium sweet and lightly bitter, quite nicely balanced and a smooth mouth feel, slightly buttery. Nice bitter.

Aroma: Light fruity, Medium-light grapefruit, light astringency. light herb. Appearance: Lightly hazy gold body. Small white head, low retention. Flavour: Medium bitterness. Light medicinal. Medium-light herb, plant material. Very Dry finish with lingering herb and light astringency. Mouthfeel: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Overall: The astringency is off-putting, making the beer too dry to enjoy. 500 ml bottle, poured. Thanks Andre! 8B. Special/Best/Premium Bitter
