2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 22, 2011
Cask (handpump) at GBBF, day 3 on 3 August 2006. Amber colour. Not much condition. A fairly plain best bitter. Slightly fruity but heavy on the crystal malt caramel character. Distinctly sweet, with a rather low hop content. Nothing too interesting here. Not really my preferred tyre of bitter anyway. Perhaps the condition left something to be desired.

6 Sweet fruity aroma, dark fruit, some dry earthy hop bitterness
3 Mid brown almost no head
6 Decent graininess, and simple traditional bitterness

10 Feels and tastes flat, not conditioned properly. Should rerate, as I know I’ve had better ones before.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 larsga (5324) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 30, 2010
Small white head. Hazy yellow body. Faint floral earthy buttery aroma. Dry-sweetish honey earth and plastic taste with floral fruity notes. Mild mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dry floral mealy earthy aftertaste. Low on bitterness and taste. Kind of unusual profile. Not great. (0.5l bottle, RealAle.com.)
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 mjs (3609) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAR 14, 2010
(Cask at Pullman, Helsinki) Poured amber and almost clear with small, sparse and white head. Aroma contained toffee, strawberry and malts. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were malts, strawberry, toffee, mildly pine and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty. A dull one but it may be partly due to poor conditioning.

Light but pleasant in flavour, with a citrusey hint and a degree of sweetness as well. Nice level of bitterness and carbonation, probably a good one for the summer.
