3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Hay Wines, Ledbury, Herefordshire. Clear gold. Thin, lasting, white head. Aroma of red fruit and biscuity malt. Taste is red fruit sweetness initially. Quite full bodied, with the sweetness giving way to a dry, light bitter finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at the Barrels, Hefereford, 17/10/13.
Clear golden with a good sized off white head, good lacing ensues.
Nose is light fruit sundae, toasted malts, grassy notes.
Taste comprises light caramel, bubble gum, citrus, fruity tones, toasted malts.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, smooth on the palate.
Looks and feels good, the internals are adequate.
Would have added this as a golden blond were it a new beer!

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Cask at the Three Tuns, Hay on Wye. Golden amber with a light fizz and a middling white head. Smell of vomit and dried parmesan, with some flowers. Citrus and floral taste, but the smell is always offputting. Is there something wrong with this? Not sure I’d want to risk trying it again to find out though.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Light to mid-brown with a hint of red. Sulphur aroma. Sturdy sweet/sour behind the Burton-y egginess. Tough balance to get right and they do.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
I think this is a session beer. Pleasant but not outstanding. Drunk on a hot day on draft in a Herefordshire village. It suited the moment. Frothy smooth small head, ruby colour, light aroma. Flavour thin and slightly malty, some bitterness on the ending but vey mild.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
A fine bitter but not my favorite this at least knocks out another English county. I’d be willing to try a few Wye Valley offerings in the future as it is not that bad.
Aroma / Appearance - The flat bronze body and lingering head sit comfortably in the half pint glass. Wurther’s hard candy, semi-sweet chocolate, and nutty dough give a nice first impression.
Flavor / Palate - Noble hops, sweet syruppy hazel. and a calm malt bill ease their way from start to finish with a minimum of fuss. The texture is like liquid Jiffy peanut butter. If there is a flaw to be had it is simply that after a few sips I lost interest and was ready for a new pint.
