Clear bright brown beer, good off white head. Palate is smooth and quite dry. Semi sweet malts with a little lactose. Whisper of toffee. Trace of bubblegum ester. Mild minerals. Trace of blackcurrant and spice. Finishes very dry and medium bitter. Not bad, fairly well joined up. Over dry though!

Bottle. It’s a clear, dark amber beer topped by a dense, light beige head. The aroma is lightly roasted, with caramel and some fruityness. Quite simple, but far from bad. It’s quite dry on the palate, medium bodied and with a nice carbonation level. Caramel, roasted notes, some bitterness and a little fruityness in the flavor. Lasting bitter and caramel roasted finish. A rather boring one, but sure drinkable. 130119

50cl bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours like a really dark honey to chestnut colour. The nose has honey and barrabrith bread. The taste has sharp spicey hops, with a honey and malt backbone. The palate has a medium body with a round sweet texture and a finish that is a little cloying with some alcohol too. Overall, rich but a little unbalanced.

500 ml bottle, kindly shared by abemorsten, thanks to Odland.. ABV is 6.0%. Amber colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Very moderate aroma, some dusty malts, a hint of toffee. The flavour has a nice balance between the malts and hops (Bramling Cross and Fuggles), a slight roastiness in the dry finish. Nothing particularly "christmasy" about it though, but decent to drink..
