COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
Nothing gives Dorothy more pleasure than the succulent aroma of the two finest English hop varieties, Goldings and Fuggles. She selected these and Maris Otter pale malt for her Golden Ale as they’re naturally a winning combination.
The result is a crisp and zesty beer that is as comfortable served on its own as it is alongside chicken dishes, salads and pasta.

Bottle from a petrol station in Worcestershire somewhere. Golden colour with small white head. Aroma has citrus, bread, and a hint of malt. Flavour matches the aroma, with a nice balance.

Bottle from Lyde Court, Hereford. A little buttery, stodgy and just a touch metallic. Quite bland and not with a great deal of charm.

Pours a pale colour, a rather bland tasting blonde ale, ok but not very exiciting or memorable

500ml brown bottle, crowned, abv 4.2%, b@Eurospar (Tomasjord Tromsø). Small white head, keeps a layer, and bright amber hazy body. Scents; hops, fruitiness, meadow, roasted malt far back. Taste; hops, very gentle malt, mild citric bitterness, mine was low carbonated, hints of old butter. Smooth to palate, slightly watery. Final has much of the same as the taste, with a mild bitterness under it.

Cask at the Barrels, Hereford, 17/10/13. Clear golden with a thin off white covering. Good lacing ensues. Nose carries light chemical notes, grass, fruits. Taste comprises orange, citric fruit, toasted malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light grassy bitterness in the finish. Ok GB, the chemical notes lower the score for this one a few notches. This was one of 5 Wye Valley cask ales I had at the Barrels this evening and there were no off notes on any of the others.
