COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
Nothing gives Dorothy more pleasure than the succulent aroma of the two finest English hop varieties, Goldings and Fuggles. She selected these and Maris Otter pale malt for her Golden Ale as they’re naturally a winning combination.
The result is a crisp and zesty beer that is as comfortable served on its own as it is alongside chicken dishes, salads and pasta.

Bottle. Slightly cloudy blond effort with patchy head. Disappointingly this has the waft of a macro lager about it - that non-descript, sweet malt aroma - and it tastes like one, too. It’s decent bitterness is hampered by the mass produced aftertaste and feel. Very forgettable.

Another dismal offering from Why Valley? My mate said... shit, like Carling. This is bland. Seriously not good enough. Haven’t got time for this. Ratebeer yawn. Give it up.

Bottle. Medium high fluffy white quickly dying head. Hazy yellow body. Mild and rather weak malt hops aroma a dusty hint but actually it does not smell of much. In spite of the low alcohol percentage - which is probabaly the reason for the low ratings of my fellow countryment - this beer is actually quite tasty. The hops is clear and crisp and I do like it even though it is now powerful. Citric flavors are dominant and I do like the acidic to sour notes. Low carbonation. Long bitter finish. Come on friends it is actually very good!

2012: Clear golden, creamy ale. Stinging hoppy flavor in the aftertaste. Fine easy-drinking beer.

500ml bottle. Aroma is light fruits and light hops. Appearance is pale golden with a nice foam. Taste is light bitter and light sour. Has a bitter after taste and leaves a dry mouth feel. Overall a good Ale.

Brown 500ml bottle, best before 22 Nov 2008, drank 24 July 2008. Almost lager looking, a very light amber/dull yellow with a big white head, no sediment left the base of the bottle, so the beer was clear. Overal I was disappointed with this brew, very little aroma, taste or body. The Goldings and Fuggles Hops used and the Maris Otter Pale Malt failed to impart any great depth of character or flavours and it was a ’nothing beer’ to me. This is a great shame, because this is the first beer from Wye Valley that I have reviewed on this site and I generally like their beers.
