COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Special - March 2009.
The beer celebrates the Mappa Mundi, located in Hereford Cathedral. The largest surviving medieval map of the world, the Mappa Mundi is an outstanding treasure of the medieval age which reveals how 13th century scholars interpreted the world in spiritual and geographical terms.
Mappa Mundi Ale has a high proportion of amber malt for a very distinctive flavour profile, which includes hints of coffee amongst the malt flavours. It is well hopped with Goldings for a fine flavour and aroma.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag ONails, Bristol, 02/04/09. Dark amber in colour with a slight, off-white head. Malty aroma of red fruit, milk chocolate and a touch of roastiness. Flavour had plenty of powdered chocolate, doughy malts and a decent bitter finish. Good stuff.
